Tailoring each experience to your wishes by locals who love their city
Forget Japan’s obvious travel destinations like Tokyo and Kyoto, because Nagoya has several tricks up its sleeve. Known first and foremost as Japan’s automotive hub (it’s the home of Toyota), there’s a lot more to the city that can be best discovered on food tours of Nagoya with City Unscripted. We’ll pair you with one of Nagoya’s famously friendly locals and plan Nagoya food tours tailored to your tastes. Ready for a food experience you’ll be thinking about for years to come? We’ll give you a taste of the local lifestyle in a city that switches swiftly between tradition and modernity on unforgettable food tours of Nagoya in the buzzing city center.
The best food spots in Nagoya don’t necessarily cater to tourists, so you don’t want to end up at an eatery that hasn’t been properly vetted by a food-loving local. The local guide leading your Nagasaki food tours serves as your personal GPS, Google Translate, and restaurant reviewer, so you’ll be in good hands. On our food tours of Nagasaki, no place or experience is off-limits. You’ll get to visit local favorites – holes-in-the-wall without an English menu insight, traditional markets, and underground eateries no tourist could find alone. It doesn’t get more authentic than that!
Nagoya food tours would be nothing without trying some of its most iconic dishes, many of which you couldn’t find anywhere else in Japan! The city prides itself on its fantastic food, and our food tours of Nagoya give you ample opportunity to taste all the favorites locals have grown to love. Sample dishes like Hitsumbushi, a grilled-eel delicacy, or grab on-the-go Tenmusu – chewy rice balls with tasty shrimp tempura in the center. And for something a little more adventurous, any Nagoya local would recommend a drink of raw eggs with a pinch of salt from a superb local breed of chicken!
The best food in Nagoya is found in a range of unique places. On Nagasaki food tours with a local, we’ll make sure you experience several of them! See places like Sakae, an entertainment district lined with high-rise buildings, where several of Nagasaki’s trendy restaurants and sleek bars can be found. Uncover narrow inner-city streets bathed in the glow of neon lights and packed with tiny noodle bars, karaoke spots and cozy izakaya, and explore a secret underground shopping mall filled with tiny, traditional restaurants serving excellent sake and local food specialties on Nagasaki food tours.
Takako was amazing! The experience was wonderful. It's like visiting a friend for dinner and a walk. We learned a lot and appreciated every moment.

Stephen was a long time local of Nagoya and as a native English speaker, really helped bridge the gap between my group and the locals. We ended the food tour in a hole in the wall place with extreme local flair. The history and characters at the place were fantastic and I wish I would have had more time to hang out and enjoy that scene. Stephen was extremely nice and we enjoyed the Sakura festival scene as well as the Osu district. We would do it again!
