I love sharing the best of Naha with visitors, from the history of Shuri Castle to the lively streets of Kokusaidori. I enjoy riding my motorcycle along the coast, exploring beautiful beaches, and swimming with sea turtles among colorful coral reefs. Okinawa’s unique culture and local food are some of my favorite things to share, along with cozy cafes where you can relax. I’m looking forward to seeing Shuri Castle restored and showing you all the hidden gems that make Naha special. Let’s explore and make great memories together!
I’m a friendly and easygoing local host who loves sharing the best of Naha with visitors. What I enjoy most here is the incredible variety of local food because there is always something new to try. I spend my days visiting temples, relaxing on beautiful beaches, and exploring parks and museums. I’m passionate about Okinawan culture, especially Eisa, sanshin music, traditional festivals, and the charming architecture of old Japanese houses. I know neighborhoods like Kokusai Dori, Naminoue, Asato, American Village, Itoman, Haebaru, Tomigusuku, Omoromachi, Makishi, Oroku, Senaga Island, and Shuri very well. If you’re looking for the best local restaurants, temples, matsuri, nightlife, jazz spots, or cultural performances, I’d be happy to show you around!
My name is Sara Eiko. My mother is Japanese from Sasebo, Nagasaki and my father is American from Carlisle, Pennsylvania. I grew up between Japan and the U.S., giving me a naturally bicultural, global outlook. I’m a hospitality professional having held senior roles at world-renowned hotels such as Park Hyatt Tokyo, Grand Hyatt Tokyo and The Terrace Hotels. I’ve also worked as a simultaneous interpreter for prominent organizations including NHK, Japan Broadcasting Corporation, supporting major cultural and international events. Over the years, I’ve welcomed distinguished guests - from eminent artists and actors to political leaders and celebrity chefs. My passion is making people happy through "omotenashi" - the unique Japanese art of thoughtful, respectful hospitality. I specialize in Shuri Castle tours and have insider access through onsite research, membership in the Shurijo Castle Friendship Association and a close relationship with the castle's staff and the Okinawa Churashima Foundation which operates the castle. I also have deep ties with the descendants of the Sho royal family, offering rare insights into the Ryukyu Kingdom. I look forward to introducing you to the royal, majestic and fascinating world of Shuri!
Sara is a very caring and knowledgeable lady. We are English only speakers and needed her language interventions.— Kevin , Naha

Here is what our guests say about our hosts and creating memories
Yuka was an amazing guide and we are very happy with her tour. She was able to adapt easily throughout the day to our special requirements and her local knowledge was invaluable.
Our private walking tour of Kanazawa was an unforgettable experience, made truly exceptional by our guide, Iku. As a lifelong citizen of Kanazawa, Iku’s deep knowledge of the city’s history and culture brought every stop on the tour vividly to life. One of the most memorable highlights was participating in a private tea ceremony, an intimate and beautifully conducted experience that gave us a meaningful glimpse into Japanese tradition. We also loved strolling through the historic geisha district and learning about its fascinating past, followed by a deeply moving visit to Hosen-ji Temple that left a lasting impression on us. The day continued with a peaceful walk through Kenroku-en Garden, where we were fortunate to see the plum blossoms in full bloom—an absolutely magical sight. Iku then guided us through the samurai district, sharing captivating stories about the history, traditions, and daily lives of the samurai families who once lived there. Beyond being incredibly knowledgeable.
Sara Eiko Albright is excellent: personable, knowledgeable, and flexible. She tailored the day to be exactly what I wanted and provided interesting insights and experiences that captured the real Naha. Highest possible recommendation!
Our guide Sara has lived in Naha for 23 years and has made many friends of local artisans. She introduced us to several and then translated their stories. It was wonderful and a totally unique experience.
Sara Eiko Albright provided a personalized experience that fit my needs and wants perfectly! She was very helpful with communication before the tour began, met me at my hotel, provided great insights and unique experiences in Naha, and was very enjoyable company. Highest possible recommendation!
Excellent!! We loved Sarah and hope to see her again when we return to Okinawa the next 2 years. Loved all!

Sara gave us a fantastic tour. She was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the history of Naha and its culture and inhabitants. We toured Shuri Castle and then she brought us to a lovely local restaurant where we sampled Okinawan cuisine and we had a private tour of a pottery kiln due to her being acquainted with the chief potter himself. I couldn't recommend her more highly.

This isn’t a traditional tour with a fixed script. It’s a fully personalized day shaped around your interests, whether it’s culture, history, neighborhoods, or hidden local spots. Your host is a knowledgeable local, more like a friend showing you their city. It’s flexible, one-on-one, and tailored entirely to you.
After booking, you’ll receive a short questionnaire where you can share your interests, travel style, and any must-see spots. Based on that, we’ll match you with a local host who’ll reach out to plan your personalized itinerary.
Yes! You can blend food, culture, history, neighborhoods, or even a bit of nightlife if time allows. Just share your interests in the questionnaire, and your host will build the day around them.
