I moved to Japan because of my love for it.
Discover more about meI decided to stay for healing purposes. This was 12 years ago and now Japan is my second home. Over the years I have gained the superhuman ability to walk for ages without getting tired. I can also speak Japanese with a flawless accent! I enjoy the simple things in life, whether its indulging in street food or exploring smaller areas like Hinodecho all day. Even though I know the city well, I'll always be a tourist at heart. I love both the popular areas but also value hidden places that only locals know of. Fun fact of the city: urban legend has it that Yokohama is Pikachu's home. If you appreciate getting lost and getting lost in translation, let's do it together!
The tour guide was very professional and provided detailed explanations. We really enjoyed it.
Show moreIt is really good go with Estela around the Yokohama. Know so many places.
Show moreEstela is clearly the best tour guide we’ve had in a long time. She wanted to show us things that we wanted to see, and it was more like coming to Yokohama and having a friend show us around. She was great and we would give her the highest recommendation. Please pass this on and thank her for us.
Show moreThis is a great way to see how the locals eat. Our guide took us off the beeten path offering us great historic facts about the city while sharing resturants and dishes we would have never found. The meals were great and she was able to cater the experiance to what we were looking for.

My name is Hiroko Kitagawa.
Discover more about meI was born and raised in Japan and graduated from Keio University. I have experience living in California totally for 11 years because of my husband’s job. Since 2000, I have been teaching English to people from children to business persons. I started my career as a tour guide in 2019. I have guided a lot of foreign tourists around Tokyo areas and also Kamakura, Nikko, Mt.Fuji, etc. I always enjoy meeting and guiding foreign tourists with a smile and would like them to visit fantastic places in the Tokyo area.
Hiroko was a wonderful tour guide. Her English was outstanding, personable, friendly and knowledgeable. Food selection was perfect with variety of Japanese and Chinese foods. I would highly recommend!
Show moreWe enjoying seeing the huge food floors in the department store and train station, but then we chose smaller places to eat which was more relaxing. All the food was terrific and we were stuffed at the end. Hiroko also helped us learn how to navigate the subway and the app. We definitely got to places we wouldn’t have on our own!
Show moreWe enjoyed a wonderfully wet visit to Yokohama. Our terrific guide was so flexible and accommodating given the weather, our time constraint and the fact it was a holiday. Her follow up to discussions and our difficulties navigating the area was so helpful. We would definitely hire her again.
Show moreHiroko was knowledgeable, well prepared and charming! She made our time in Yokohama more fun and all the more memorable! The food we sampled was delicious and Hiroko was very flexible about what we wanted to try. Great Tour!

I am Martina, an Italian girl who moved to Japan 5 years ago and has completely fallen in love with it.
Discover more about meI've lived in different places, but now I am located nearby the center of Yokohama. I never get tired of discovering this city and what it has to offer. It’s characterized by a long history of international relations with the Western world, thus it’s the epitome of what Japanese people call “wayosecchu”: the perfect combination between the Japanese and Western world. And this can be seen at every corner of the city, where old architectural buildings mix up with gigantic department stores and more modern buildings. It also has a lot of green spaces and it’s surrounded by the sea. It's also the perfect place to have a walk while discovering new cafes and hidden gems. One of my favorite areas is called Yamate, located on the top of a gentle hill from which you can look out over the ocean. It used to be the area where diplomats and traders lived, thus it has a lot of buildings resembling European architecture. For me it’s the perfect place to escape the crowd and relax. I also love the Aka-Renga; it used to be a warehouse to stock products coming from the sea, but it has been renewed with shopping places, restaurants, and event spaces. It’s full of craft-mans shops and delicious food. Every time I go, there's a street performance or an event going on. It’s one of the trendy-chic areas of the city, close to Minato Mirai and its gigantic department stores. I like to talk and exchange thoughts with people from different backgrounds and cultures, because I think everybody has interesting stories to share. I hope you'll join me for an city adventure!

Hi, I’m Yuko, your enthusiastic host in Yokohama!
Discover more about meWhat I love most about this city are the amazing views of the Bay Area, the rich cultural experiences, and, of course, the delicious food. One of my favorite activities is exploring the world of ramen! We have a ramen museum where you can taste regional ramen dishes from all over Japan and even make your own! Plus, the Cup Noodles Museum is a fun stop to learn about the history of instant noodles and create your own custom cup. When I’m not indulging in ramen, I love unwinding at the Minato Mirai Manyo Club, where you can relax in an onsen with stunning views or enjoy a massage. It’s a perfect spot after a day of exploring. I’m also a big fan of walking around the city, soaking in the sights and enjoying the incredible variety of food. Let’s explore the best food, shopping, and fun activities Yokohama has to offer together!
Yuko San was an efficient and pleasant guide for checking out local food. She was thoughtful and asked me ahead of the tour about likes and dislikes and if I had any particular dishes I would like to eat. We had a grand walking tour around my hotel area and went into clean, interesting places I'd likely never found on my own. The food was all most tasty and delicious.
Show moreI was 100% satisfied with the experience. Her English was excellent. I normally don’t fill out the surveys unless they are bad or exceptional.

Show moreMy wife and I had a terrific day with Yuki touring Yokohama and Tokyo. Not being able to read or speak any Japanese, spending at time with a real local helped us see so many more things that would have been possible otherwise. We took many trains to see some of the lesser known attractions and had we try do that on our own, it would have taken 3 days versus 1 full day. My wife and I couldn't have had a better more enjoyable day.

Having raised my daughters here, I know all the best spots for families and how locals truly enjoy this vibrant city.
Madoka was charming and interesting and she created the perfect experience for us. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide to spend the day with. The sights and the history were matched only by the very special vintage fashion she took us to see. She knew exactly where to find unique and special bags for a great price and in excellent condition! She brought us to favorite local spots for delicious food and it was just the perfect day. We are so grateful to Madoka for a wonderful experience in Yokohama!!

Show moreWe had a wonderful time doing a sushi-based tour with Madoka. We went to restaurants we'd never adventure to on our own. We highly recommend it, and we hope to meet Madoka again.

I am a Tokyo local with a lot of knowledge to share on Yokohama.
Discover more about meI love hosting people from all around the world, because this is the best way to learn about different cultures. In my free time I enjoy wake-boarding with friends and visiting galleries or museums in the city. I'm always educating myself on Japanese history, both ancient and modern. For a fun nigh out my choice is a karaoke party! I actually used to be a part of an a cappella club in my university. In Yokohama my favourite place is Chigusa, a local jazz cafe. There I can relax and listen to music, have a drink (or two), read a book, and chat with friends. Yokohama, like Tokyo, has something for everyone so come and join me for an adventure!
Our guide Kenji was amazing. He asked us what we wanted to eat and we chose a food that was not on his radar. He did not miss a beat and found a place where we got a very authentic experience and great food. We followed up with a visit to a more conventional casual restaurant where we tried a variety of Japanese specialties. The quail eggs were so cute and so tasty. Kenji ordered and smoothed the way for us everywhere we went and made certain we went home with full tummies.
Show moreKenji went out of his way to find the best spots for us to enjoy authentic Japanese specialities where locals go. We highly recommend his tour. He is very knowledgeable and speaks English perfectly.
