Tailoring each experience to your wishes by locals who love their city
Japan’s high-octane “startup city” by the sea is one of the coolest places in the country. You could whip out your GPS and guidebook and move between must-see attractions like shrines and skyscrapers – or you could do something a little different. Our tours with locals in Fukuoka recreate the experience of seeing a new city with a friend who calls it home, giving you not only the top attractions but also the places only locals know and love. Discover the city’s creative coffee culture (ever heard of the “flannel drip” method?), colorful festivals, and a street food scene that’s out of this world. And you’ll do it all with a brand-new friend on our tours with locals in Fukuoka.
If you’ve done your research, you’ll know that Fukuoka is filled with incredible things to see and do on its well-trodden tourist trail. But on tours with locals in Fukuoka, you have a local guide to take the reins – and that means you’ll be seeing the city from a different perspective. Our Fukuoka tours with locals don’t stick to the main sights. Your host will give you the perfect mix of must-sees, secret local haunts, and landmarks that haven’t made it into your guidebook, like a shop selling intricate dollhouse furniture or a tranquil Japanese garden far away from the downtown crowds.
In a city that’s equal parts traditional and futuristic, fast-paced and relaxed, every traveler’s ideal itinerary will look a little different. That’s why we don’t take a one-size-fits-all approach to our Fukuoka tours with locals – all our experiences are 100% personalized to the people who travel with us. Our local insiders will learn about your personality and passions to craft an experience with your name on it. On tours with locals in Fukuoka, we’ll give you exactly what you want, whether ancient architecture, stunning temples, neon-lit nightlife, or tasty Tonkotsu ramen!
Do you want to move up and down the snaking street food stalls along Naka River, tasting charred chicken and rich ramen on food tours with locals in Fukuoka? Or would you prefer a night tour, jam-packed with drinking, dining, and dancing along the downtown area’s LED-screen-lined backstreets? It doesn’t matter what you want to see or do – our range of tours with locals in Fukuoka has something for absolutely everyone. Get a quick crash course in navigating the city, spend a full day exploring its most iconic sights, or get a feel for family-friendly Fukuoka – the choice is yours!
Great tour to uncover hidden gems of Fuokoka starting with a rooftop city view at Hankyu Dept Store with a garden and zen atmosphere . City shrines , Full Full mentai baguette where ppl que in . A definite must try experience and best ramen for dinner I’ve had . Jocelyn was a great guide . Not your run of the mill city tour showing highlights of the city you would not normally see . Perfect for us becoz that was the kind of experience we were looking for . Got to see a red light district, trendy vintage shops in Tenjin aside from the malls at Hakata . If you are into hidden gems, this a a must try experience. Ask for a younger guide like Jocelyn .

My private tour in Fukuoka was one of the highlights of my trip. My tour guide name Bruce was knowledgeable, friendly, and incredibly passionate about the city. The company tailored the itinerary perfectly to our interests and showed us places we would never have discovered on our own—from beautiful parks to hidden local food spots. The explanations about Fukuoka’s history and culture made the experience much richer. Highly recommended for anyone who wants a deeper, more personal way to explore the city.
