Geographically located in the middle of Japan, it is very convenient to get around.
Discover more about meIt takes only 30 minutes to Kyoto by train. Tokyo is only about an hour away. You can go out on a day trip. Ise Jingu Shrine and Shirakawa-go, a World Heritage Site, are also conveniently accessible and are transit destinations for most tourists. The city is an industrial city with a well-developed town due to the location of Toyota's headquarters. There is a large shopping district in a modern shopping area, which has a strong cross-cultural flavor. The Osu shopping district is famous for cosplay and is called the world's sacred ground. Cosplayers from all over the world visit the area. At Osu Kannon, you can encounter antique markets and get food from all over the world. And, speaking of Nagoya, mornings! For the price of a cup of coffee, you can get a great deal, and some people even go as far as brunch when they are open until 11:00 a.m.Nagoya is a city of coffee shops. Even Komeda, which has made its way around the world, originated in Nagoya. Local dishes(Nagoya-Meshi) such as red bean toast and miso are very popular. Historically, Aichi Prefecture is said to have the largest number of temples in Japan. Inuyama Castle and Atsuta Shrine are places I always like to take my guests to. What I am considering for guests from overseas is renting out an important cultural property, kimono dressing, and tea ceremony experience. It is a retreat program to enhance spirituality with hiking and vegetarian cooking in the satoyama of Toyota Asuke. Since I am friends with the ascetic, kimono, and tea ceremony teachers, I am confident that they will enjoy the casual atmosphere without any special arrangements.
Takako was amazing! The experience was wonderful. It's like visiting a friend for dinner and a walk. We learned a lot and appreciated every moment.

My name is Saki, and I'm a local host in Nagoya.
Discover more about meI love that our city has a more relaxed pace compared to other bustling tourist destinations. It makes it a comfortable place to live and explore. I'm also a big fan of our unique food culture, especially our love for miso paste in all sorts of dishes. One of my favorite areas in Nagoya is the Nagono district, next to the castle. It's a historic area over 400 years old, and it feels like you're taking a step back when you explore it. I love discovering new restaurants and hidden gems here. I'm also well-versed in the Nagono district, the Osu shopping arcade, Yagoto, and even Inuyama, which is just a 30-minute train ride away. If you're looking for a local's take on the best off-the-beaten-path places to eat, I'm your girl! Let's discover the delicious and charming side of Nagoya together!
Saki was brilliant, she was engaging, extremely personable, she took us to a small free museum off the beaten track. When we went to Nagoya Castle she explained the history of the Castle & significance of each room. When we also said we wanted to experience a local lunch she was able to locate a small restaurant that was simply perfect. A beautiful young lady, we would definitely book her again if we were in Nagoya or Kyoto.
Show moreWe had a great personalised tour with Saki - the palace visit at the castle was amazing and the sushi meal we had was fantastic! Was really interesting to see the shopping district and to learn about some of the history and special features of Nagoya. She also gave sone great tips for things to do during the rest of our trip in Japan. Would highly recommend a tour with Saki to anyone visiting Nagoya

Hi, I’m Toshihito, and Nagoya is my playground!
Discover more about meBorn and raised here, I love the city's perfect balance—big enough for excitement but not as crowded as Tokyo or Osaka. You’ll often find me exploring Showa retro bars and restaurants, indulging in Nagoya’s soul food, or hiking the city’s highest mountain. I’m also a big fan of Nagoya Castle and know all the hidden gems, from Ghibli Park in Nagakute to Inuyama Castle’s old town. Whether it’s the best retro spots or the quiet rural corners, I’ve got Nagoya covered!
Toshi was very Lindy and knowledge I can recommend him!

Show moreThis is a great tour, with many options. We chose Nagoya Castle, and because we weren't interested in shopping, we asked our guide before the trip if we could do Tokugawaen Garden. We were so lucky an amazingly knowledgeable and very flexible guide, Toshi, agreed to take us to both places. The Castle is amazing, both inside an out, with a long history. The collection of artwork inside the castle, on floors, ceilings and walls, is mind-boggling. Tokugawaen Garden was equally impressive, but because we took so many photos at both places it took longer than the time allocated for our trip. Toshi could not have been more obliging, even taking us back to the Cruise Terminal where he both collected and returned us. This was greatly appreciated, since we are not experienced train travellers. We are so glad to have Toshi as our guide.

Hence I didn't have to wait too long to start my tour. Given it was my first time, we visited some popular tourists spots. I especially enjoyed tasting the snacks in Osu! A very warm, friendly guide to spend the day with!
