Doug was a fabulous host! We went places and saw things we NEVER would have found otherwise. It made us look at the city with fresh eyes. Upon taking a driving tour the next day we realized just how much ground we covered!

Our tour started being picked up right off the dock. We had an informative drive into Edinburgh and then off to wander the miracle mile. Richard was enthusiastic and had a wealth of knowledge on Edinburg history. He also regaled us in stories of the more turbulent and dark stories of the cities history at our request. A stroll through the cemetery was a favorite. Backstreets and Alleys cobblestones and stairs we traversed the old city and Richard answered our many questions. After a deli ou lunch in the city we were off to Hopetoun house. It’s actually a palace in my opinion but nevertheless it is an awe inspiring structure built in 1699. We toured the house and spoke to the knowledgeable staff and learned a great deal about the home and the family. We were then returned to the dock and said our good byes. You can’t go wrong with Richard on this tour. Highly recommend this tour.

Really great customizable tour. Tom was friendly, enthusiastic, highly knowledgeable and tailored stories and sites perfectly to keep our 7 and 10 year old engaged — so much so that they were sad when the tour ended. A+ all the way!

Edinburgh is a fantastic city and Tom is a very personable guide with a lot historical and current knowledge. We particularly liked the many anecdotes.

Thomas was a very knowledgeable tour guide who was able to answer all the questions that we peppered him with and gave us additional information that we didn’t know prior to our tour.

Tom was the BEST tour guide!! He was so excited about his country's history and knew so many interesting facts, stories, folklore, legends, restaurant recommendations and made our trip to Edinburgh one of our favorite cities!

Colin was exactly what our adventures needed. We meshed right in with the Edinburgh culture and we had a grand time! My mom sometimes needs a wheelchair because she can get a bit winded and he made all of it so easy for us. I highly recommend him if you enjoy stories and culture and knowledge and history, he is your man. Plus he showed up and kilt and made my day!!!

Our tour guide was fantastic. Very knowledgeable of the area and he showed us and educated us about the area. The kilt was a nice touch. Definitely would recommend this private tour. It does include alot of walking.

Jill did a great job of giving us an overview of the city. She is very knowledgeable and flexible. She has a lovely way of weaving together history and current culture. We would definitely recommend.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Jill. She was very personable and knowledgeable. Having a personal guide enabled us to easily navigate the back streets and “Closes” of Edinburgh. We visited the National Gallery and National Museum which greatly expanded our understanding of Edinburgh and Scotland. Highly recommend!!!

Everything is good

Jill was my private tour guide in Edinburgh at the end of September. I enjoyed the couple of hours city walk tour with her. I appreciate her insights into the city’s history, culture and rich information about the historic places and museums. It’s a fun and unforgettable experience.

Brian was very helpful and knowledgeable of the area and buildings. He covered all the places I had requested and more.

In addition to the old city we visited new city and some other out-of-bitten tracks. Thus, I’ve got different angle of the city.

We had such a special time with Brian on this food tour. We tried scotch, yogurt balls, fried mars bars, etc. Brian was very knowledgeable about Edinburgh and Scottish history. He took us by some of the best spots in Edinburgh. We could not have asked for a better tour guide

Calci was engaging, attentive, patient and hospitable. We enjoyed conversing with him! He also didn’t rush us, which made the tour more pleasant and enjoyable. 10/10.

We had a limited time in Edinburgh and Calcedonio Riesi was our tour guide. His love of history and his city and country was evident as he gave us an engaging walk through Edinburgh -full of history, myths, and anecdotes. He offered suggestions for the remainder of our stay as well. Full of knowledge and energy, the time flew by as we talked centuries of royalty, history, renovations and progress. You can’t miss spending some time with Cal!

We had a great time with Michael. He is quite knowledgeable about the history of Edinburgh. He led us to some interesting places. He was quite knowledgeable about different gins and whiskeys. He introduced us to some interesting ones. He also gave us great recommendations during the tour and followed up with some others the next day.

Michael did an amazing job taking us off the "beaten path" when touring Edinburgh. We appreciated how Michael tailored the tour to our needs. He was very communicative in advance to find out what we wanted to do and he followed up with us after our tour on somethings we had questions about. Michael is an Edinburgh native and knows his stuff! We would highly recommend requesting him!

I had sent a list of things we wanted to see and do, and Elizabeth did her best to make sure we did them. She was knowledgeable and fun to be with. We had good weather at the beginning, which turned to bad. We still managed to experience the Royal Mile and were grateful that we had Elizabeth to guide us.

Andre was perfect. My wife is in a wheelchair so we requested an accessible and cobblestone-free tour and Andre went above and beyond meeting our needs. We got to see both the new town and old town, had a great vegetarian lunch, and the ride and route were very smooth. Definitely recommend Andre if you're looking for an accessible tour and great vegetarian food recommendations!

Our morning with Andre exceeded our expectations. We booked our tour of Edinburgh at the very last minute but Andre reached out to us and put together the most perfect introduction to this amazing city. He showed us several sites we never would have found or understood without him ,and he made many recommendations which we appreciated and used on our own. He was always mindful of our needs, ( coffee, rest breaks etc. ) and made himself available for questions even after we parted. I feel as if we have made a friend in Edinburgh and would not hesitate to request him again. Best decision we ever made! Thank you, Andre!

Andre was wonderful! We booked this tour at the last minute because another company fell through and right from the beginning Andre was pro active in contacting us and was in constant communication. He was very kind and considerate of our challenges and very attentive to our needs. He was very articulate and engaging in his narrative. He shared the history in a way that was interesting and fun to follow, with many interesting side notes. Could not have asked for a better experience

Fabulous tour and will definitely book Jen again when I return to Edinburgh. I had a tween and a toddler in a pushchair. Jen planned an itinerary which was pushchair accessible and that kept my tween fascinated. She has gone back to school full of information on Edinburghs history and culture. I also learnt lots and more importantly we all had fun. Jen is lovely and my toddler loved her (she doesn’t like anyone so that’s the highest recommendation you can get) If you are pondering over whether it is worth the money, it is! Book now and you will not regret it

Tailored to what you want! Had a great time learning and walking around the city. James was very entertaining and knowledgeable. Excellent for history lovers.

If you are a gin lover, this is the tour for you and if you are really lucky you will get James as your guide. Once he found out where we were staying he adjusted to meet us at our hotel. We visited 3 great gin pubs and gained so much knowledge about how gin is made, the different blends, why it came to be in Scotland, and also learned a lot of Scottish history and culture along the way. This is a must do tour!!!!
