Tailoring each experience to your wishes by locals who love their city
It makes sense that the most iconic Japanese cuisine has been perfected in Osaka, where locals are known across the country for their wicked sense of humor and obsession with food. What better way to experience everything the city’s food scene has to offer than on an Osaka food tour with a local host who happens to be a self-described culinary connoisseur? Whether you explore lantern-lit mazes of izakaya bars, sit down for a formal fine-dining experience, sip a classy drink at a sleek cocktail lounge or end up at a 100-yen sushi joint after singing your heart out at an LED-lit karaoke bar, an Osaka food tour with us can be whatever you want it to be!

An Osaka local has insider knowledge of where the true stars of the food scene are found, and it’s not where you’d think! Spend a few minutes chatting to one of Osaka’s famously friendly locals, and you’ll likely hear the city's unofficial slogan: Kuidaore. It roughly translates to “Eat until you drop”. That’s the motto in the city, and it’s the unwritten rule you’ll live by on an Osaka food tour with a local host. Known as the “Nation’s Kitchen,” Osaka’s renowned culinary culture attracts hungry visitors from across the country. Whether found at cafés, restaurants, bars, or traditional markets, the food is beyond delicious. No matter what your taste, there’s something in the city for every palate and pocket.
What’s your food style? Are you all about a quick fix at a street food stall or 6-seater ramen joint followed by a drink at a no-frills standing bar? Or do you see yourself at an upmarket eatery, where Michelin-starred meals have been celebrated globally? On food tours in Osaka, the choice is yours. From our “Street food heaven in Japan’s food capital” tour to our “Eat like a true Osakan in trendy Ura Namba” experience, we have an unforgettable food tour to give you what you want. Maria was a fabulous guide and host. She was fun and very knowledgeable. It was raining the day of the tour, and she adjusted the tour accordingly. She took us to little hidden gems and places we would have never discovered on our own. Though it was raining buckets at some places, we had such a fun time with Maria. Of all the places I enjoyed Sumiyoshi Shrine. It was surreal in the rain! She speaks excellent English and I would highly recommend her. Her made our the otherwise tedious rainy rainy fun and wonderful.

After we requested to avoid the main tourist areas, our guide recommended a local neighbourhood to explore. High energy. Warm and very welcoming. Kanna (Candy) took us to a couple of standing bars, and a wonderful izakaya far from the maddening tourist crowds. Final stop was a surreptitious cocktail bar. All in all, a wonderful adventure off the beaten track. Kanpai!
