From a 1900 year old shrine to futuristic architecture, tick the must-sees in this delightful city
Here’s everything you need to know before your day unfolds.
To see all of Nagoya’s top attractions, you’d need way more than eight hours – but with a local host by your side, you’ll easily check at least 10 of its top spots off your sightseeing list. Take a tranquil stroll through the traditional Shirotori Garden, and join throngs of otaku enthusiasts in Osu, home of the annual World Cosplay Summit (and 700-year-old Osu Kannon Temple). Follow your host through busy central districts, past the iconic TV Tower, trendy boutiques, and the Sky Boat Ferris Wheel – mounted right on the side of Sunshine Sakae Mall! Hungry? Experience authentic Nagoya at a hidden backstreet bar, or in the city’s best-kept secret: the Fushimi underpass, where traditional restaurants serve the most mouthwatering food.

Gold was very friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable of the history of places we visited. Prior to our arrival in Japan, she informed me about possible weather so we could be better prepared for our trip. Gold is highly commendable.
Show moreTakako-san from City Unscripted was an exceptional guide who went above and beyond to make my experience unforgettable. When the day’s conditions met some roadblocks at Kaida Kogen, she quickly found beautiful alternative routes, allowing me to enjoy walking in nature nonetheless just as I had hoped. Along the way, we shared stories about our lives, turning a simple tour into a heartfelt and memorable journey. Her warmth, flexibility, and deep knowledge of the area made all the difference!
Show moreAnna is a friendly and warm-hearted guide. She explained Nagoya Castle in & out detail and even though there were some unexpected situations along the way, we managed to solve them well. It was a short but enjoyable tour.
Show moreTakako-san was an absolutely wonderful guide! Despite unexpected roadblocks that made some pathways inaccessible, she went out of her way to find alternative scenic spots for us to enjoy the waterfalls in Kaida Kogen. She also thoughtfully planned alternative walking routes so I could still indulge in my love for hiking in nature. Along the way, we shared stories about our lives, making the experience feel less like a tour and more like a journey with an old friend. Thanks to her deep knowledge, kindness, and genuine hospitality, today is one of the most memorable highlights of my trip thus far.
Show moreAnna was a sweet & kind host with much local knowledge & cared for us well! I would not hesitate to recommend this tour with Anna.
Show moreStephen was a very accommodating tour guide. Due to the weather we wanted something indoors, instead of local sights. He suggested two different museums, we chose the Toyota museum and spent most of our time there. When we said we wanted to get a few more trinkets for gifts, he suggested a covered shopping district that he knew has a couple of souvenir shops. We thoroughly enjoyed the rainy day.
