Poor Karin had her work cut out with me! I was ill with a tummy bug for most of my South Africa trip, and rocked up in Cape Town both starving and terrified to eat. Karin instantly understood, shifted gears, and tailored the experience to my slower pace, patchy appetite and possibly dramatic and sudden need for a toilet (which luckily didn't arise). I loved getting a 'proper' city tour in and among the food stops, and Karin was so knowledgeable about everything. We visited Bo-Kaap, the Company Gardens, Prins and Prins and all around this central area. Karin was great company and very sympathetic and easy to chat with. I managed some (but not all) of the nosh (as I recall a koesister featured), which was a tragedy really, because it's clear that Cape Town has so much amazing cuisine to try. So my photos attached do not show me eating but rather just enjoying CT in the sunshine. Clearly I will have to come back, and try again! My experience really shows how great City Unscripted experiences are in how flexible, personal and unique they can be, regardless of the circumstances. The hosts like Karin are so knowledgeable about their home turf that they can pivot instantly. As a traveller who is often going solo, also, the fact the guides I have had are so companionable makes a huge difference, and I feel like I have acquired a new friend for the day. I also certainly echo a previous reviewer in how thorough Karin was in getting in touch early on once I had booked, and keeping in touch periodically until our tour. That was very reassuring and it was lovely to chat with her in advance over WhatsApp. Thanks to Karin for saving my day and making it memorable for all the right reasons!

Tafadhali (Tafa) was a brilliant host/guide, and my experience really demonstrates how City Unscripted's uniquely-designed and personal tours can come into their own. I was unfortunately very unwell for most of my South Africa trip, and hit a new low on the morning of my tour. How was I going to see something of the city and actually enjoy it in my present state? Tafa had already found the solution: knowing I was ill, he had changed the walking tour to driving, and incorporated ALL the pharmacies into our sightseeing! I was so grateful I nearly cried. It meant that I could sit in comfort, stop if I needed to, and still see everything. Tafa's gentle and sympathetic company, and his flexibility and quiet insistence on making the experience exactly what I needed, from moment to moment, made all the difference to my Cape Town visit. He was also excellent company, and we had some great discussions about all kinds. I even managed some walking around the Waterfront and to the Mocaa Gallery, but shall have to save the Diamond Museum for another time! My grateful thanks to Tafa for saving the day and making it memorable for all the right reasons.

My tour was excellent! Thanks to Tafadhali, my host guide. He was very knowledgeable and made sure I had a fantastic day in the City of Cape Town. In addition to great selected places for a food and drinks tour, he went an extra mile to give me a city tour. Time and money were well invested! I recommend Tafadhali as a great network in the city if Cape Town. I hope to take a different tour with him in the future.
