Milos is the quintessential guide. I was looking for a guide for my first day in Kyoto to better understand the region. I could not have asked for a more incredible experience. I learned more from Milos in three hours than I had from weeks pouring over tour books and listening to podcasts. There was no question he could not answer. But his true skill is putting everything into an easily digestible context and making it fun and super engaging. We spent some time before our arrival in Kyoto going back and forth about our interests and Milos totally nailed it. He chose fascinating temples, shrines and garden paths for us. And as we were walking from place to place, he never stopped conveying knowledge about religion, culture, history, architecture and garden design. He could absolutely be a university professor. Fortunately for us, he chose to be a tour guide. You should count yourself lucky if you are able to secure some time with Milos. And top off a flawless tour, he sent us links for a number of restaurants, bars and stores for souvenirs based on our expressed interests. Do yourself a favor and find this guide!!!
