Tailoring each experience to your wishes by locals who love their city
A colorful hub of cool kids and creatives, Mexico City has become one of the most vibrant destinations in the world. Our private Mexico City tours with locals let you experience this exciting city beyond its stunning architecture and ancient Aztec landmarks (although you’ll definitely squeeze some of those in too!). With a like-minded local guide leading the way, you’ll get to see the sides of the city that only reveal themselves to the people who call Mexico City home. Discover the true spirit of CDMX at its old-school cantinas, taco carts, and trendy, tree-lined neighborhoods far away from the bustling city center on our Mexico City tours.
From the iconic Metropolitan Cathedral to the ancient Teotihuacan pyramids just outside the city, the Mexican capital is brimming with attractions that regularly make it to the top of travel lists. But some of the city’s most incredible experiences are the ones that you couldn’t even find in your guidebook. On our Mexico City tours with locals, our insiders give you an authentic snapshot of the local lifestyle that can’t be found at its tourist traps – instead, they’re at the unassuming street food carts, cool boutiques, and hidden drinking holes where locals gather to share a beer.
We know that every traveler’s perfect Mexico City tours are different. Maybe you’re content to move between Mexico City’s markets, restaurants, and street food stalls, or perhaps you’re most excited about exploring the city’s history and ancient Aztec landmarks. Whatever it is you love about travel, we’ll tailor your experience to your interests. In a full day, half a day, or just three hours, our Mexico City tours designed by locals squeeze in everything you want to see. Our network of diverse locals is bound to have someone who shares your passions and can show you the best their city has to offer.
Perplexing maps? Tangled public transport? Chalkboard menus scrawled in Spanish? These hindrances won’t slow you down when you have a local guide leading the way. Our City Unscripted Mexico City tours with locals play the role of GPS, guidebook, and Google Translate, so you’ll be able to experience any- and everything the city has to offer. Mexico City tours with local insiders paint a beautifully nuanced portrait of the city’s personality that no guidebook ever could. The local haunts, lesser-known landmarks, and hidden gems that make the city truly special are yours to discover and explore.
Alex was a wonderful, entertaining, deeply knowledgeable, passionate guide. We hit the ground running and he was game with all our ideas. Didn’t even blink when we asked if we could take the subway instead of an Uber to get the full local experience. He showed us to several amazing street taco vendors as well - well off the tourist beaten path. We learned an incredible amount of Mexican history. Alex truly possess a wealth of information about culture, history, architecture, and food. We booked this last minute and really lucked out - it was so much fun and he had interesting commentary everywhere we went. DO NOT MISS THIS - it will lay the foundation of a well-informed trip to Mexico City that every conscientious tourist should partake in.

I’ll be honest, I was a little bit nervous about my tour at first because despite booking it semi-last minute (about 10 days out), I thought I’d have more contact with my guide leading up to it but there wasn’t. We ended up texting the night before to confirm - which was fine - I just expected more pre-contact. However, that being said, Marisol put on a fantastic tour! This was probably one of the weirder/more unique tours as I asked to see the medical museum (which is definitely not one of the more common choices) and she added on going to see the oldest hospital in the Americas which was super cool. In the end, it was a fantastic tour and I was very glad to have her as my guide. She was extremely knowledgeable about architecture and medical things, as well as many of the artworks we saw since we visited the mural museum too. Overall, would recommend and very glad to have picked this tour! Just need to be a bit more proactive with the pre-communication.

Alex was fantastic. It felt like exploring the city with a local friend. We cannot believe how much we learned and saw in such a short amount of time. The whole process was so smooth and personalized to what we requested. Would absolutely recommend.
