Explore Frida Kahlo's bohemian neighborhood, walk its cobbled streets lined with colorful houses and hip cafes and shop for crafts at a local market
Here’s everything you need to know before your day unfolds.
Follow one of our Mexico City hosts through the creative neighborhood of Coyoacán, the former home of world-renowned artist Frida Kahlo. Now, she’d hardly have lived here if it were an average, run-of-the-mill neighborhood, would she? No.
So, explore Coyoacán (aptly named after the mischievous coyote) and discover La Casa Azul (Frida’s former home), shady squares, exotic markets, decadent street food stalls, and purple jacaranda-lined avenues. Coyoacán is a place for artists, bohemians, and cultural lovers of every description!
Do as the locals do, and hang about outdoors, people-watching, snacking, enjoying the live music, and absorbing the progressive spirit of this bohemian neighborhood. You may even catch people dancing in the streets! If you’re feeling brave, throw back tequila and join them. Okay, obviously not if it’s early in the morning, but then again, you’re on holiday.

The tailed tour, the direct connections with the guide. It is well worth the time and money to get what we need. The private tour set apart from the group tour.
Show moreWe had a fantastic time with Alejandro as our guide in Coyoacan! Alejandro is very knowledgeable, we definitely benefited from our experience with him. Thoroughly enjoyed his telling of the history of Coyoacan and Frida Kahlo/Diego Rivera. Plus, he made such wonderful food recommendations. Gracias

Show moreAlejandro was a highlight of our week-long trip in Mexico City! Our first day, Alejandro met us at our AirBnB and walked us through the back streets of Coyoacán, introducing us to the neighborhood and the city. He is a delightful, interesting, and knowledgeable guide and person. We were so happy that we booked another tour with him later in the week. I hope that we might have the chance to meet again - but highly recommend Alejandro as a guide and friend!
Show moreIsaac made our trip extraordinary by introducing us to local artists and exhibits. He also gave us tips for Oaxaca. We're very fortunate to have met Isaac.
Show moreI had a great time with John C. as my host and guide. His English is very good but he accommodated my wish to use Spanish at times. He is very knowledgeable about Mexico City and the Coyoacan. He had comments of things at every turn and answered every question I had. I felt very comfortable with him and our tour time went very quickly. At the end of the tour, he had many good suggestions of other things I might like in the city.
