Tailoring each experience to your wishes by locals who love their city
See Melbourne for yourself, and you’ll immediately understand why locals have dubbed it Australia’s own “European enclave”. A city of culture, creativity, and excellent coffee, this dynamic metropolis offers a range of delightful things to do and unique places to see. With its tangible atmosphere of effortless authenticity and bohemian flare, Melbourne is a city that doesn’t try to be cool – it just is. No matter where your city tour takes you – from the seaside to the bustling CBD to the city’s inner grid (a treasure trove of arcades, alleys, and graffiti-plastered lanes lined with galleries) – you’ll never struggle to find things to do in Melbourne.
If you were to picture the stereotypical city, it wouldn’t look like Melbourne. A labyrinth of laneways penetrates right into the center of city blocks housing excellent restaurants, cool bars, trendy galleries, and more amazing things to do in Melbourne. Away from these narrow alleys, Melbourne still delivers its distinctive style. Seaside trams slowly trundle past Art Deco architecture, steel-and-glass skyscrapers hide bars blasting live music, and miles of green parkland host flea markets and festivals. One thing’s for sure: you’ll never run out of things to do in Melbourne.
Waves of immigration from Europe and Asia have created in Melbourne a vibrant melting pot of diversity starkly visible within its charismatic neighborhoods. With so many nationalities calling the city home, it’s no surprise experiencing the food scene is one of the best things to do in Melbourne. You’ll never be far from the ethnic enclaves housing Asian, Ethiopian, Indian, and Middle Eastern eateries that have put the city on Australia’s culinary map. And if you want authentic Aussie fare? Melbourne is the country’s culinary hub of top chefs specializing in native ingredients.
Narrow laneways open up a world of fascinating things to do in Melbourne that cement its status as one of the coolest cities on earth. Between old-school paperback bookstores and street art-covered alleys leading to hipster cafés, you could spend months trawling the city’s inner grid and not even scratch the surface. Whether you sift through vinyl in AC/DC Lane (named after the iconic Australian rock band), browse vintage clothing stores, or explore unique galleries like Mailbox Art Space, where every tiny piece is tucked inside a mailbox, the things to do in Melbourne never disappoint.
Outstanding! Michael was a fun and informative guide who tailored the walk to our slow pace. It was a great day!

Karla was super. Local and national knowledge was excellent. Very friendly and chatty. Asked me about what I was interested in and on the hoof adjusted the tour to my interests. Thank you.

What a wonderful city, and what a fantastic tour guide in Michael! He met us at the tour port, and used the public transportation system to show us EVERYTHING! From the F1 track to the seashore to the entire downtown area...it was fantastic. The tour was much longer than 3 hours, thanks to Michael wanting to show us his city. And what a beautiful city it is. I wish it wasn't halfway around the world, or we would visit more often! But Michael made the tour. Friendly, knowledgeable, always willing to answer our questions - he was the consummate professional. And he was more than willing and helpful when it came to help push my wife around in her wheelchair (she got hurt on the cruise ship), so she missed none of the tour that Michael hosted. All in all, a great day and a great host showing us a fantastic city. Highly recommend!
