Michael is a professional tour guide with over 25 years of experience traveling outback Australia in my 4WD. Based in Melbourne I split my year guiding in Melbourne over the summer leading tours in and around Melbourne. During the Australian winter, Michael runs tours throughout northern Australia, focusing on the Kimberley and Arnhem Land. He enjoys freelancing, providing shore excursions for cruise ship guests, and running private tours in and around Melbourne and Victoria. At the same time, he runs his own 4WD Tag Along tour operation in the Kimberley and Arnhem Land.

I find that a day 1 tour of a new city helps you orient yourself and feel more comfortable for the rest of the trip, as well as plan better what things you want to see and when. On this one we made a well planned loop of the central city, helping me understand it better both in terms of layout and culture. BTW, if you are visiting Melbourne, go see the Old Gaol. It's a cooler museum than it sounds like. Also, the town makes surprisingly high-quality chocolate.
