My exploration of Tokyo took a fascinating turn with Alberto, a resident Spaniard for 30 years. He became my guide, offering a unique street-level perspective on Japanese life. First things first: navigating the complex public transportation system. Alberto not only explained it expertly but also provided a hilarious (and very helpful) "lost ticket" tutorial (guilty!). Next came a language lesson: "Sumimasen" (excuse me), the magic word that unlocks greetings, goodbyes, pleases, thank yous, and apologies – a true all-rounder! Venturing beyond the tourist trail, we stumbled upon hidden gems: local noodle and tea shops. Imagine charming spots with no flashy signs or even storefronts – these are the treasures you only discover with an insider! Alberto's perspective was truly special. His blend of traditional Spanish manners and fluency in Japanese has earned him a lot of respect. Overall, he offered an unforgettable firsthand experience, allowing me to feel like a true local in Tokyo
