I’ve lived in Bologna for 20 years
I speak English, Italian
I am Graphic Designer / Musician
Hello I’m Claudio! I moved to Bologna in 2003 to study sociology, since then I fell in love with this beautiful city so I decided to live here. I am a musician and graphic/web designer. Over the years I played with different bands in many clubs of the city and I worked in the graphic/web field in various communication agencies and publishing houses. Music has always been my first passion: currently I'm attending the Conservatory to get my degree in jazz bass. What I appreciate most about Bologna is its cultural vivacity, in fact, despite being a quite small city, it really offers a lot to its inhabitants and to those who come to visit: music and film festivals, exhibitions and museums, trade fairs, live music venues, libraries and obviously many restaurants and trattorias. As well as the city centre, the neighbourhood I hang out the most is Bolognina, since I live here with my girlfriend and our 4yo daughter.

Viewing a city or town through the eyes of a local denizen is a pathway to a more intimate understanding of a new culture. Claudio, our guide, was excellent. I can check the easy boxes by saying he was knowledgeable and friendly. In truth it was much more; It was a great day walking around Bologna, having great conversations over what was more of an exchange of cultures by the end. We tried amazing food and tried some great local wine. It was simply likely meeting an old pal. Thanks Claudio for the great day.

Claudio is well versed in all areas of Bologna, a graduate himself of the prestigious university. He walked us through many different areas of the city, including the university district, the food markets, the Jewish ghetto and Piazza Maggiore just to name a few areas. He shared little nuggets of knowledge about the city that only someone with life experience would know. Claudio’s English was perfect, and he was a charming Bologna host. He shared recommendations for places to eat, drink and be merry. He was knowledgeable about museums, history and all points of interest.

Claudio was a wonderful guide, extremely knowledgeable, but also happy to say “I don’t know” - about once in a 3-hour guided tour! He showed us all sorts of interesting things, including some great street art, which we love. Claudio’s love of his city was infectious and we finished up in love with it too! Great fun.

Our 3hr tour with Claudio on 6/6/24 was really enjoyable. It was like having a friend show you their home town. Good pace & chat. He was very knowledgable and dead honest about what he didn’t know (which was very little). Great to get personal recommendations on good ice cream places and restaurants. Time flew by!
