Eighteen years ago, I came from Chile to Amsterdam for my studies in Sustainable Development. I fell in love with a Dutch classmate (I had already fallen in love with the city) and I started a new personal and professional life in a charming old Dutch-style house in the center of Amsterdam. I am fascinated by the history and architecture of this city. Sharing its historical events still present in its streets and memorials gives to the visitors a special touch with the city. Amsterdam may be known for its progressive societal lifestyle, however, its rich (classic and contemporaneous) cultural offer is on the top among the European cities and way more representative of what Amsterdam is. The local street markets are also one of my habitual visits, where I bring people to get to know about the local Dutch products and their mixes with international influences. Corners that the visitor cannot easily find by him/herself. I love to show people places for a drink and outdoors that are outside Amsterdam, though reachable by an easy biking ride. Exhibitions, cafés, and historical sites are not only inside the old town but also nearby around the city.
