My reviews

Taku was an awesome guide! We hit all of the highlights of Osaka, including the castle, Dotonbori, Shinsekai, various shrines, and a temple. We had amazing food at local-type restaurants. I highly recommend a private tour of Osaka!

Understanding where to travel in Japanese cities can be a challenge just because of the juxtaposition of traditional and modern day Japanese culture and then adding in a really short visit makes it harder. For this reason when taking my 18yr old daughter on a flying visit to Osaka, we decided on a private day tour with City Unscripted and couldn’t be happier about the decision. Seeing Osaka with a local guide meant we got a mix of the “required” land marks such as Osaka Castle but also less well known areas such as Shinsekai street food district and Isshinji Sanzenbutsudo Hall and Temple with Buddhas made of the ashes of the dead. Our guide Taku-san was very easy going and knowledgeable and made the day memorable. Expect to walk ALOT! We did over 10 miles, and also purchase tickets for things like Osaka castle in advance to avoid long lines. Food and taxi fares are your responsibility but we were honored to have Taku eat with us and introduce us to traditional Osaka cuisine at the feet of the Billiken. Highly recommended.

Taku was very easy going and showed us some wonderful places we would not have seen if we had tried to tour ourselves. It’s good to see Osaka with a local.
