Hello, I'm Michael and I would like to introduce myself and share with you why I live in, and love, Kyoto so much. My journey began seven years ago when I took a break from my Italian restaurant in Houston, Texas and traveled to Japan. Starting in Sendai and Matsushima, I down to Miyajima and Hiroshima then I worked my way back to Tokyo. Along the way I stopped in Kobe, Osaka, Nara and Kyoto. After only two days and nights in Kyoto, I knew that this city was special. Once back in the USA, I made a plan to the next chapter of my life. Living in Japan! Moving and living here has been, and is so rewarding. The people are so kind, the country is amazingly beautiful and the food is absolutely delicious. During the first few years, I explored the countryside and traversed most of the city, worked as a rafting guide on the Setagawa river and up until last December owned and operated one of only three Cajun establishments in all of Japan. My hobbies include surfing, scuba, camping, enjoying wines from across the globe, museums, the fine arts and obviously cooking. I hope you will allow me to spend a little time with you so I can show you what makes Kyoto one of a kind. Thank you

Amazing time! Our guide, Micheal was one of the best guides I’ve ever had! Really an amazing experience!

Michael Was an amazing your guide, did some pre planning on what to see and was about the most efficient tour guide I’ve ever had! Really can’t say enough good things about this tour. We did 25,000 steps which was a lot! But he warned us going in and despite the focus on getting to each place never felt rushed, as we walked or took the train, he gave very interesting little facts that I found fascinating that I simply would never have learned about except for having the local person tell us! ( example was what yellow license plates mean!) Overall amazing time thanks so much Micheal!

We had a fantastic time and Michael was brilliant. He was very knowledgeable and showed us parts of Kyoto that we would not have seen. He was extremely friendly and chatty, which made us feel so at ease. Loved the whole experience and could not fault anything. We would definitely recommend Michael as a guide. Thank you
