I am Maha. Since I was a kid, I have always loved Japan. My dream came true in 2012. I lived in Kyoto for 6 months and I fell in love with the city. The culture, the history, the art, the food, the nature... Kyoto has it all. It is peaceful and yet full of life. Kyoto is the kind of city that has a soul and it can charm you instantly. I fell under the spell of Kyoto and I couldn't live anywhere else. After traveling and living in different countries for a few years, my goal was to come back. I did so in 2017. Now, I spend my time discovering hidden gems and less-known places and I am never disappointed, I am still amazed by the beauty and peacefulness of Kyoto. I think my favorite area is the north and more specifically Kurama. I always recommend to first-time visitors to expand their horizons. It is preferable to balance the tourist places and more local unknown spots to get a better sense of Kyoto. I am all for authentic experiences and for avoiding the narrow " tourist bubble" trap.

We had a wonderful tour with Maha! She personalized the tour to the things we Wanted to see. She prioritize things that she knew she would be better able to show us and directed us on where to go on our own for other places. She also took us to a delicious conveyor belt sushi place that our three sons just loved! Being at the bamboo forest and climbing up the mountain to see the monkeys was a highlight and something we’ll never forget!

I spent an amazing day seeing the highlights of Kyoto with my incredible guide Maha. She was knowledgeable, super fun to talk to, and accommodating. She knew when and where to go to each place so the day was perfectly planned. She was also flexible and allowed us to make impromptu stops wherever something piqued our interest. Would recommend for anyone visiting Kyoto!

Maha was knowledgeable, accommodating, and a lot to talk to. My day with her flew by - she made sure we saw all the sights but also left time for breaks, which were super helpful. She was also so flexible, giving us time to make impromptu stops if we see something interesting. Overall, I had a great day with Maha and recommend her as a tour guide for Kyoto to anyone.
