What I love most about Hiroshima is that it's not only known as a symbol of world peace but is also blessed with a mild climate, beautiful nature, and warm, friendly people—it’s such a comfortable place to live. I absolutely love Okonomiyaki, Hiroshima’s famous local dish! It’s not just for tourists—I eat it all the time. Enjoying food and drinks is a big part of my life! I live in Fukuyama City, and I’m happy to share my favorite spots across Hiroshima Prefecture: Hiroshima City, the spiritual island of Miyajima, the charming port town of Tomonoura in Fukuyama, the rabbit paradise of Ōkunoshima, the sake town of Saijō, and the scenic island city of Onomichi. Yuka was not only so knowledgeable about everywhere went, she carried diagrams with her to help put it into perspective, and aside from that she has an amazing personality; it is so easy to chat with her. It was like meeting an old friend and she makes you feel so welcomed and comfortable. I really appreciate that. We also ate at a local place and learned of new Japanese food from Hiroshima we never heard of. Okonomiyaki!

Our tour guide Yuka was personable and friendly and showed us around with ease and took care of managing the schedule. She explained a lot to us about the temple, the nature, local customs, and so much more. She managed to get us to places before it was super crowded and even brought us to a great chicken and curry spot on the island for some of the best fried chicken I’ve had in Japan! We would absolutely recommend this tour and asking for Yuka as your guide!
