This was an opportunity to lean about Sydney from someone who lives here, knows the history and is very proud of their community. Ross was incredible and we loved hearing his knowledge about the building of the Opera House and his favorite places to eat. We went to one of them after the tour and his recommendation was incredible!
Show moreWonderful tour guide! Very knowledgeable on the history and the location as well. We met at our accommodation, and Ross was very friendly and understanding especially given we had only landed that morning. Pleasant walking tour with lots of helpful tips, including how to use the public transport which we used for the duration of the trip. Thanks!
Show moreAn amazing day with an outstanding guide. Ross contacted us in advance and created a personalized tour of Sydney. He introduced us to the many public transportation options in the city. We covered many sites in the city and area…and still enjoyed a relaxing lunch with a lovely water view. Our remaining 2 days in Sydney were much more enjoyable and relaxed because of our experience on this guided tour. Sydney is a beautiful city that deserves to be explored. This private tour was indeed a treasure…and our guide Ross…a gift! Thank you!
Show moreRoss met us at our hotel. Well before we met he corresponded with us to inquire as to what we were going to see prior to our tour while in Sydney and also to inquire about anything we wanted to absolutely see. I appreciated the communication. We started off by going through parts of Sydney Harbor that my wife and I had not yet experienced and heard about the history of this area and of Australia. We next headed to Bondi Beach, which was the one place we definitely wanted to go to. He smoothly guided us on and off trains, buses and railways to get to the beach. We spent time walking the beach and hearing about some of the history there and at the Bondi Iceberg’s Club. We went to downtown and midtown and Ross showed us all of the significant historical sites all the while explaining their significance both in the past and currently. We spent 4 hours walking and seeing many wonderful historic sites and hearing about the history of Australia from its beginning to now. It was a great combination of history and current uses of places. Ross was great as our guide - very friendly, very knowledgeable and very adaptive to our ‘wants’. We enjoyed the morning!

We loved the informality of a tour designed just for us. We loved hiking on the Bradleys Head walking track, which is something that a normal tour would not have done.— Robert , Sydney
Sydney, to me, sounds like tropical birdsong drifting between glass towers - wild, alive and effortlessly beautiful. That mix of nature and city buzz is what keeps me inspired every day. I spend most of my time chasing sunshine at Sydney’s beaches and discovering vegan and vegetarian gems that turn simple ingredients into something special. I know the Eastern Suburbs, Inner West and the city inside out, from hidden coastal walks to must-try plant-based eats. If you want to tap into Sydney’s beach culture, relaxed rhythms, and incredible food scene, I’m your person.
I have lived in Sydney for over 30 years. It would be my pleasure to show you around Sydney!
After 35 years working in the heart of the city as a journalist and editor, I’ve come to see Sydney as a living, breathing tapestry of history, culture, and people. Whether wandering through The Rocks, strolling along the harbour foreshores or uncovering the tales of Kurnell and Kamay Botany Bay National Park, I love bringing the city’s past and present to life. From hidden laneways to legendary sporting grounds, I’ll help you see Sydney not just as a destination , but as a story waiting to be told.
You’ll usually find me wandering the historic nooks of The Rocks, power strolling past Mrs Macquarie’s Chair, or doing every foreshore walk like it is a competitive sport. I know the eastern suburbs like an old friend, especially Paddington’s hidden treasures. If you are after the perfect beach, coffee, wine, or all three at once, I have you covered because Sydney and I have history.
My biggest love in life is my doggie x
After traveling to our beautiful west coast, I began to share my passion with others as a tour guide. Spending the majority of my time leading multiday kayak tours, I was able to spend 10 amazing seasons on the Pacific coast. It was during this time that I met my Australian partner. We moved to Australia in late 2019, and it is possible that there was no worse time to come. Bushfires raged and as soon as the fires calmed down, the pandemic began. Despite all of this, Sydney was a city I quickly fell in love with. My first job here was doing kayak tours to Shark Island which gave me a unique perspective of the city. As much as I thought I wouldn't enjoy a major city like Sydney, I was blown away by how much natural beauty there is in such a big city. It has quickly become home and is a place I am passionate about sharing its natural beauty, and cultural history with the entire world.
