My name is Conor Hegarty, and I am an experienced, fully qualified Irish tourist guide and a member of the Approved Tourist Guides of Ireland (ATGI). I love meeting new people to show them around my city where I have lived and worked all of my life. My walks are light-hearted and introduce people to the Irish sense of humor while taking in some Irish history. I particularly like to tell people about the nicknames we have for our various statues and monuments around the city. As well as walking tours of the city, I also love to bring tourists to Howth close to where I live. Howth is a lovely fishing village about 10 miles from the city centre, a short train or bus ride. Howth is steeped in history going back centuries with tales of Vikings and Anglo Norman invaders and our feisty pirate queen, Grace O’Malley. We get to see Howth Castle and walk/hike through the woods for great views of the city and the islands off the coast. Come and join me for a fun filled walk in the city or a walk/hike in Howth. You won’t be disappointed.

Conor toured me around central Dublin in three hours on Saturday afternoon. He showed me all the important historical and artistic highlights this part of the city has to offer. Conor was knowledgeable, warm, and efficient, making the most of my time on this walking tour. I highly recommend Conor!

I booked this 3 hour private tour for a friend and I. Conor was our guide and he was phenomenal. We didn’t have a specific list of the attractions that we wanted to see but after giving a general idea of the sort of tour we were after (a mixture of historical and off the beaten track), Conor was able to personalise the route perfectly and we had the best time, while learning lots about Dublin. A great feature that I wasn’t expecting was the map of our route that Conor subsequently provided us with. He had taken pictures of us at various landmarks and they appeared on the map. It is a cool keepsake. I would highly recommend this experience and if you can specify Conor as your guide then you won’t regret it. He is a Dublin native and knows so much about the city. His passion is infectious. Thank you once again! :)
