I’m Alex Before ending up in Japan, many years back, I had a nomad life across several Asian countries for many years as well. I spent most of that time in India, where among other activities I had my first experiences as a tour guide. There I also met my wife, and when the relationship got more serious we decided to settle down and have a more stable life, we chose Japan where she is from. Since then I had many personal experiences in this country in different fields such as human relations, jobs in different sectors, trips, bizarre situations, etc, experiences that I always like to share, together with some knowledge about aspects of the culture that I studied for years, just for the sake of getting knowledge without thinking that I would do this activity later on. By the way, I appreciate a lot the human factor, and besides having a responsibility I enjoy a lot just meeting and being with new people. In other words; I love this job, I love the culture I show, and I love human communication in itself. Let’s meet and spend time together so I can show you the best of this city, the cultural capital of Japan

I love hunting for the best local food and uncovering hidden temples that really show off Kyoto’s unique spirit.
My name is Ada, I specialized in Japanese culture & came in 2013 to finish my studies, but I fell in love with the country so much that I decided to prolong my stay indefinitely. I just want to share my passion & the beauty that I see, and give back to society what it was given to me when I first arrived. I always wanted to become a tour guide, so I studied tourism in Spain. I have been working in the tourism industry till covid times arrived, when I shift to Kyoto University where I have been assisting international students and in my spare time organizing activities and trips for them to immerse in the culture. Let's make great memories!

My journey began seven years ago when I took a break from my Italian restaurant in Houston, Texas, and traveled to Japan. Starting in Sendai and Matsushima, I went down to Miyajima and Hiroshima, and then I worked my way back to Tokyo. Along the way, I stopped in Kobe, Osaka, Nara, and Kyoto. After only two days and nights in Kyoto, I knew that this city was special. Once back in the USA, I made a plan for the next chapter of my life. Living in Japan! Moving and living here has been, and is so rewarding. The people are so kind, the country is amazingly beautiful and the food is absolutely delicious. During the first few years, I explored the countryside and traversed most of the city, worked as a rafting guide on the Setagawa River, and, up until last December, owned and operated one of only three Cajun establishments in all of Japan. My hobbies include surfing, scuba, camping, enjoying wines from across the globe, museums, the fine arts and obviously cooking. I hope you will allow me to spend a little time with you so I can show you what makes Kyoto one of a kind. Thank you

Here's what happens when the right host meets the right traveller.
We know we wouldn't have seen as much in Kyoto or learned as much about what we were seeing without such a knowledgeable guide! And, José David ended the tour by dropping us off at a wonderful sukiyaki restaurant. Great experience!
Ada is a wonderful guide being very knowledgeable on the area and history. She is fun, interactive, has great communication skills and energy. The tour was amazing and I highly recommend Ada as a guide. She gave us some great information and tips for things to see on our next day too.
Our tour guide Toga was wonderful. He was very considerate of our availability and catered his route and guidance to fit our needs throughout the entire tour. He gave us multiple recommendations including a wonderful restaurant we ate at after the tour we would have never found without him. He was also very knowledgeable and provided the perfect balance of history combined with his local insight and personal thoughts.
