You could ring the bells at the interactive Kiyomizu-dera Temple in Eastern Kyoto, check out the view from Yasaka Pagoda less than one mile away, or head a little further north and explore the Botanical Gardens while the young ones zip down the playground slide.

Nature lovers may choose to head 30 minutes out of central Kyoto to Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, where forest walks and a visit to Iwatayama Monkey Park are sure to keep the whole family entertained. Milo did an excellent job managing our big group. He was very knowledgeable about Japanese history and had a great sense of humor. My family enjoyed the tour so much. He was patient with our group of 8, including two children. Also, we had someone with walking issues and another family member who ventured off constantly in our group. But Milo was accommodating and adjusted to the needs of the group. Everything was well planned. We went to things on the beaten path and the food stops were delicious. Thank you Milo!!
