I’ve lived in Kyoto for 9 years
I speak English, Spanish, Japanese and some French
I am a Tour Guide/Travel Curator/University Staff
Hi! My name is Ada, I specialized in Japanese culture & came in 2013 to finish my studies, but I fell in love with the country so much that I decided to prolong my stay indefinitely. I just want to share my passion & the beauty that I see, and give back to society what it was given to me when I first arrived. I always wanted to become a tour guide, so I studied tourism in Spain. I have been working in the tourism industry till covid times arrived, when I shift to Kyoto University where I have been assisting international students and in my spare time organizing activities and trips for them to immerse in the culture. Let's make great memories!
Ada met us very close to our hotel, which was convenient for us - she went out of our way to do this. She then took us by train the Nara, where she expertly narrated cultural, architectural, and historical features. We had lunch together, which was quite convivial. She then went out of her way to bring us to another temple of interest back in Kyoto, not in the agenda, because we had some extra time. She is Spanish, but her English is excellent as is her Japanese - which made communication easy. All told, this was an excellent experience, and we highly recommend that you consider her as your guide.

We really appreciated Ada's knowledge, awareness and patience. She had wonderful insights and stories and we felt we experienced the areas of Kyoto she showed us much better than if we'd been on our own. Thank you!

We had the pleasure of touring Kyoto with Ada, and we couldn’t have asked for a better guide. From the start, she tailored the entire experience to our interests and pace, making the day feel personal and relaxed. Ada’s knowledge of Kyoto’s history and culture is truly impressive—she brought each site to life with fascinating stories and insights that added so much depth to what we were seeing. Beyond her expertise, Ada is simply a lovely person. Warm, thoughtful, and easy to connect with, she made us feel comfortable right away. It genuinely felt like we were spending the day with a friend who happened to be incredibly knowledgeable. If you're looking for a tour guide in Kyoto who will make the experience meaningful, informative, and enjoyable, we absolutely recommend Ada.
