Immerse yourself in the vibrant, cutting-edge trends of Shibuya & Harajuku! With local tips from your host, you're in for an unforgettable experience
Here’s everything you need to know before your day unfolds.
Discover the cutting-edge trends in Shibuya and Harajuku, brimming with youthful creativity and energy. I have meticulously curated a route to ensure you can savor Japan's latest and most unique 'kawaii' and 'cool' experiences. And your host will have all the insider knowledge to make this experience top-notch. Ready for an adventure? Let's dive in!
Welcome to the heart of Tokyo! Shibuya Scramble Crossing is where you'll feel the pulse of the city. Imagine yourself standing amidst a sea of people, waiting for the lights to change. As soon as they do, it's like someone hit 'play' on a massive, choreographed scene. People from every direction flood the crossing, and it's both exhilarating and mesmerizing.
Just a few steps away, you'll find the statue of Hachiko, the loyal Akita dog. I'm sure your host will tell you the tale of this spectacular pup. His story will tug at your heartstrings and make you appreciate the unwavering bond between humans and dogs. Remember to snap a selfie with Hachiko—it's a must!
Next, head to one of my favorite places: Shibuya Parco. Here, you'll find the Pokémon Center. Be prepared for a nostalgic rush as you browse through plushies, trading cards, and exclusive merchandise. Keep an eye out for the life-sized Mewtwo—it's epic!
Swing by the Nintendo Store next, where you can marvel at everything from vintage consoles to the latest games. If you're a fan of Mario, Zelda, or any of the Nintendo classics, you'll feel like you've stepped into gamer paradise.
Finally, the Jump Shop is perfect for manga and anime enthusiasts. Whether you love One Piece, Dragon Ball, or Naruto, this place is packed with cool memorabilia. I once spent an hour here just picking out the perfect Luffy keychain!
Feeling peckish? Time to refuel at Pepper Parlor. This isn't just any café—it's a tech-savvy spot where robots are your hosts! Yes, you read that right. The robots, led by the friendly Pepper, will take your order and even chat with you.
The food here is surprisingly good. Your host will have a ton of delicious recommendations for you to indulge in here.
Next up is the vibrant, youth-centric Takeshita Street in Harajuku. This is the epicenter of Tokyo's quirky fashion scene. As you walk down the street, you'll be surrounded by colorful shops, eclectic boutiques, and plenty of people-watching opportunities. Your host will have so many hidden gems to show you here.
Stop by one of the famous crepe stands for a sweet treat. My favorite is the strawberry cheesecake crepe—it's an absolute delight. You'll also find shops selling everything from funky socks to adorable accessories. Don't miss the iconic Totti Candy Factory for a giant rainbow cotton candy—it's as Instagrammable as it is delicious.
Your final stop is Tokyu Plaza Omotesando. This isn't just a shopping mall; it's a sleek, architectural marvel. The entrance itself is a kaleidoscope of mirrors that makes for an incredible photo op.
Once inside, explore the various boutiques and lifestyle stores. There's something here for everyone, from high-end fashion to unique Japanese souvenirs. Your host will also lead you up to the rooftop terrace for a serene garden escape right in the middle of the city. The view from here is stunning, especially as the sun starts to set.
There you have it—your whirlwind experience of some of Shibuya and Harajuku's best spots. Each stop offers something unique and unforgettable, from the bustling energy of Scramble Crossing to the futuristic charm of Pepper Parlor and the vibrant fashion of Takeshita Street. I hope you have as much fun exploring these places as I always do. Enjoy every moment, and make sure to take lots of pictures!

Show moreAn interesting trip with lots to see, well explained by the tour guide who was very friendly and helpful. There are certainly more beautiful places and attractions to see in Tokyo and the surrounding area, but it's definitely worth it for a half day.
Show moreI can not recommend this tour enough. It was made spectacular by our incredible tour guide, Firas. He was informative, helpful, accommodating and felt like family by the end of the day. Be warned there is a lot of walking but the sights are amazing and original. Thanks, Tamiko Ueda Heuer.

Show moreWe wouldn’t have been able to navigate the transportation by train&bus to Kamakura and the walk to attractions ourselves with a toddler and baby in tow. Amir showed us the way seamlessly. He also brought his wife as extra help and both were great with my toddler. They were patient with our slow pace, helped us take our pictures, and brought us to a really good lunch spot.
Show moreMeet our needs, excellent tour and selection of lunch restaurant.
