Some say Bologna never sleeps, but I think it just can't get enough of its vibrant music, culture, and, well... pasta. While I pride myself on my profound knowledge of Bologna's rich cultural tapestry and its sumptuous food history, it's the city's bustling social hubs I can't resist! I've got a local's eye for the best spots and an open heart ready to make new friends. Nicola was a great guide. He listened to what we wanted (historical sites, less well known churches and museums) and tailored the tour to our express interests, was very knowledgeable, and found great places for us to stop for coffee and lunch when we needed a break. Our trip to Bologna would have been much less interesting without him. Highly recommend.
Show moreThis was a great introduction to Bologna. Nicola walked us through the historic areas and explained about the architecture and history; he also shared some interesting anecdotes along the way. Part of the tour included a walk through the Quadrilateral, the historic market area where you see all the little stalls with different vegetables, fruits, and meats. It was a good overview of the city in the perfect amount of time.
Show moreNicola was a wonderful tour guide. He had so much historical knowledge to share with us. We were only in Bologna for one afternoon and this was a perfect way to get a snapshot of the city!

Discover more about meI'm Lorenza, a local host in the beautiful city of Bologna, Italy. I'm friendly, trustworthy, open-minded, enthusiastic, and positive, and I absolutely love my city! To me, Bologna is the perfect balance between a small, friendly village and a bustling capital, and I'm always excited to share its beauty with others. My favorite things to do in the city include walking under the 40 km portico, discovering new neighborhoods beyond the city walls, and trying new restaurants (the food here is just excellent!). I'm exceptionally knowledgeable about downtown Bologna and Bolognina, and I have a real passion for my city's history and local culture. Whether you're looking for a friendly local host or just someone to chat with about the best places to visit in Bologna, I'm here for you! I can't wait to show you why I love this city so much.
I love sharing my enthusiasm and knowledge to make your experience fun, relaxed, and filled with the best of what Bologna has to offer.
I’ve walked under Bologna’s 40 km of porticos countless times, and I still discover something new every time!

We took a private tour, so everything was geared to us. Lorenza was amazing. She contacted us before we arrived in Bologna to ask about our tastes and interests and then really personalized the 3-hour tour. We visited the city’s famous towers, learned about the city’s unique architecture, went inside the basilica and the old university buildings, and had wonderful explanations of Bologna’s culture from an insider’s perspective. We tasted balsamic vinegars (a must), visited off-the-beaten path bakeries (including gluten-free options!), and ended the tour with a wonderful lunch off the main plaza. Lorenza makes the city quite magical with her explanations of the porticos, the family vendettas, and the stories that make Bologna come to life. We also left with a list of suggestions of everything from where to eat authentic local cooking to where to get a good haircut. This is a tour I’d recommend anyone looking for insider’s knowledge of the city and/or to get your bearing when you arrive.
Show moreWe enjoyed the practical stories and the knowledge of the area without the long history lessons.

There were so many great vegan places we ate. We had smoothies with pasta straws, tortoloni, mini pizza, stuffed aubergine, lemon drink and more! Plus we visited several vintage shops and I purchased things at 3 different location. We ended in a beautiful garden where there’s a café.. (highly recommend the stuffed aubergine). I was also excited to see the Street Art by the university too

Show moreJon was personable as well as knowledgeable. He came prepared with a specific itinerary in mind and we were able to see the majority of the important sites within the time we planned. We greatly enjoyed the tour and highly recommend Jon.
Show moreNicola was a great guide. He listened to what we wanted (historical sites, less well known churches and museums) and tailored the tour to our express interests, was very knowledgeable, and found great places for us to stop for coffee and lunch when we needed a break. Our trip to Bologna would have been much less interesting without him. Highly recommend.
