What travelers think of our United Kingdom experiences
We had a great time! Learned a lot, saw a lot, and had wonderful conversation. Highly recommend G and the tour!
Show moreGiselle was amazing! She took me for a 4 hour tour around Edinburgh so that I could capture images of the city in off the beaten track locations. I came away with not only all the images I was hoping for, but the tour was couched in fascinating historical, architectural, and cultural information. Giselle was the best and I would recommend her highly!
Show moreOur tour started being picked up right off the dock. We had an informative drive into Edinburgh and then off to wander the miracle mile. Richard was enthusiastic and had a wealth of knowledge on Edinburg history. He also regaled us in stories of the more turbulent and dark stories of the cities history at our request. A stroll through the cemetery was a favorite. Backstreets and Alleys cobblestones and stairs we traversed the old city and Richard answered our many questions. After a deli ou lunch in the city we were off to Hopetoun house. It’s actually a palace in my opinion but nevertheless it is an awe inspiring structure built in 1699. We toured the house and spoke to the knowledgeable staff and learned a great deal about the home and the family. We were then returned to the dock and said our good byes. You can’t go wrong with Richard on this tour. Highly recommend this tour.
Show moreElizabeth took us all over the city, showing the important and interesting places and things to do.
Show moreTour guide was friendly and knowledgeable, and did a great job personalizing the tour based on my interests. Would highly recommend!
Show moreI had just half a day left and wanted to have the best experience at that time. This activity has surpassed my expectations and I enjoyed it thoroughly. Zainab had been a very informative and gracious host. Most recommended.

What you’ll do
You’ll wrap up warm and spend time exploring the enchanted winter wonderland that Edinburgh becomes over Christmas time with one of our Edinburgh hosts - although we do find that mulled wine or a wee dram of whisky does a good job of warming us up too.
You’ll discover the historic cobbled streets of the Old Town draped in twinkling lights, the magical Scottish Christmas markets, and Christmas trees fit to dazzle Santa Claus himself.
Browse stalls selling beautiful homemade gifts, sample some tasty festive treats, and warm up with a hot chocolate, spiced cider, or that wee dram of whisky!
You could stroll through Princes Street Gardens and enjoy the light displays and adorned trees or even go ice skating.
You could also let your host take you to one of their favorite local pubs and settle in next to the fire after your shopping extravaganza.
It’s called the most wonderful time of year for a reason.
