Hi there, I'm Hanako, your friendly local host in Kyoto! My curiosity drives me to constantly explore and learn more about this incredible city. What I love most about Kyoto is that it embodies Japanese culture in its truest form. It's a city that effortlessly embraces tradition while embracing new experiences. Exploring the city by bike is my passion, as it allows me to discover new cafes, restaurants, and shops that Kyoto is so great at bringing in. I also find peace in nature, whether it's wandering through temple gardens or hiking in the mountains. Being a resident of Kyoto, I know the city like the back of my hand. Let me be your guide to the wonders of Kyoto, sharing its rich history, vibrant culture, and mouthwatering culinary scene. Looking forward to meeting you!

My reviews

Very nice tour with excess very nice local guide Hanako (Hanna). We have three kids, including a 3-year old, and Hanna was very flexible to meet our needs and navigate us to many good sights. She provided a lot of great information and helped the kids enjoy everything as well.

Amazing experience in Kyoto. We spent 3 hours exploring Kyoto downtown with Hanako. We had the chance to visit multiple locations and understand slightly better the history of Geishas. Thanks for everything Hanako.

We had a great experience walking in Kyoto downtown and learning more about the history and culture of Kyoto. We enjoyed our casual conversation and the fact that we could ask whatever questions we had. Thanks a lot for the tour and the recommendations.

We are really grateful for the opportunity to have Hanako as a tour guide! We saw historic streets and enjoyed drinks by the river like the locals do! Hanako shared with us many fascinating stories and insights about Japan ranging from hundreds of years ago to modern times. She was also very kind to those of other faiths like myself as a Christian when opting not to pray at a shrine, and she was good at explaining the biggest religions of Japan. She gave us great recommendations for restaurants and stores to shop, letting us know that Kyoto is home to Nintendo’s main office (we later walked past it after the tour and knew the building’s significance)! Hanako was super fun to meet, and it was special being able to share time together. I was quite sad to see her go at the end, but she had recommended to us a super yummy place for dinner after the tour so it was time. Thank you so much for the hard work and friendliness! Hanako, we so appreciate you!
