I am a Tour & Travel Guide

Hello, I’m Alfred, a professional local host in Hong Kong with a passion for helping guests experience the city in a smooth, thoughtful, and authentic way. I specialize in private walking tours that balance Hong Kong’s well-known highlights with quieter neighborhoods, hidden corners, and everyday local life. One of the things I value most is efficiency without pressure. By making smart use of Hong Kong’s exceptionally clean and reliable public transportation, especially the MTR, I help guests see a great deal of the city comfortably without rushing or unnecessary detours. Many visitors are pleasantly surprised by how much they can experience in a short time while still feeling relaxed and well cared for. My approach to guiding is calm, flexible, and attentive. I offer light but meaningful cultural insight, sharing observations about how Hong Kong has evolved, how people live and work today, and how tradition and modern life coexist in this dynamic city. Whether we are exploring historic streets, modern districts, markets, or scenic viewpoints, I adapt the pace and focus to suit each guest’s interests and energy level. Outside of guiding, I enjoy spending time with friends over fresh seafood as well as hiking and cycling in Hong Kong’s green spaces. These experiences continually remind me of the city’s remarkable contrasts. These personal connections shape how I introduce Hong Kong to my guests, not as a checklist of sights, but as a place to be understood and enjoyed.

My reviews

Alfred asked us what we would like to see prior to our tour date. He was so well prepared when we met him at our hotel. We walked & caught a bus to the banking district, took the funicular railway up to Victoria’s peak and walked around it, taxied back down to HK central to see famous locations before taking us back to our hotel by the subway. It was an excellent tour.

It was great to catch the bus and the subway as we moved around on our tour. The journey to Victoria Peak and the walk around the peak was such a great experience.

Alfred was a fantastic tour guide. Lots of walking, lots of steps. He adjusted the itinerary in response to our interests and was very knowledgeable about the history and culture of Hong Kong. We had a four hour tour booked, he spent five plus hours with us and even walked with us to a great local lunch spot before saying goodbye. He went above and beyond. He provided a wonderful introduction to a city we had not been to before.

We spent the day with Alfred who was absolutely fantastic and so knowledgeable! He shared everything he could with us as we experienced Hong Kong for the first time. We saw a ton in our day together and had asked Alfred ahead of time to simply plan what he thought we would to see. He did not disappoint and we could not be more thrilled with the time we were able to spend with him. We ended up using the train/subway quite a bit which is very easy to navigate and set us up with confidence the next day for a group tour that relied on some subway action. The thing that made Alfred truly special beyond his knowledge and kindness was he took pics of my husband and I throughout the entire tour on his own accord and bundled/airdropped to me when we said our goodbyes. Couple of tips - good walking shoes, the city is such a lovely and walkable city. Have HKD on hand for taxis (most only take cash) and snacks. We flew in on a 15 hour flight the night before and being exhausted had no time to get local currency. Alfred was gracious enough to front until we hit an ATM.
