Hi, I’m Robert - a long-time Hong Kong local who never tires of discovering something new in this incredible city. What fascinates me most is how effortlessly Hong Kong blends movement and meaning. One moment you’re gliding across town on the MTR, the next you’re catching the breeze on a double-decker bus, watching the streets buzz with life. I love wandering through Central, Sham Shui Po, Kowloon City, Tsim Sha Tsui, and Wanchai, tracing how they evolve while still holding onto their roots. For me, Hong Kong’s magic lies in its contrasts - the temples beside glass towers, the festivals that honour the past amid a city racing toward the future. Sharing those layers and stories with visitors is what makes every day here feel new again.
Robert was an exceptional guide with encyclopedic knowledge, warm personality and genuine empathy and respect for the culture!

We had the loveliest day with Robert. We traveled all over the city, took a variety of forms of transportation, sampled local treats/dim sum, and experienced far more of Hong Kong than we ever would have on our own. The day was a perfect blend of history, cultural influences, cityscapes, temple visits, and walking the local streets with an expert. Robert had stories, pictures, and explanations throughout the tour. Most importantly, we felt and were impressed by how much he loved the city, and the tour seemed to be a great way to show what a great place it is. I highly recommend him.

Robert met us this morning as planned at Statute Square, from the initial whatsapp messages a day before, offering advice and suggestions, we knew we were on to a good thing. We weren’t wrong. Robert picked some attractions and sights for us to see after a few short minutes chatting, his knowledge of Hong Kong is exceptional, being a Dutch national with exceptional English and as we learnt, Cantonese, German and Dutch he is the perfect tour guide of HK. I guess living here and offering tours for more than 40 years helps!! What a fount of knowledge. His understanding of Hong Kong and its history is unsurpassed, the descriptions given were articulate, concise where required and lengthy when needed. We visited temples, the Peak, the slow rollercoaster (Funicular) local bars, restaurants, subway, train, tram and even a bus and shown all the historical sights anyone could want with exceptional explanations. He even knew the names of the artists who painted the walls in and around the older parts of town. All we can offer is a huge thank you to Robert and advise any and all to take this unscripted tour of Hong Kong. It’s worth every penny (which isn’t too much to start with). We will see you again. Thanks Robert. Ian and Rob (from Ireland & England).
