Just like Julia Roberts did in Eat Pray Love, you'll get a slice of Napoli life experience from a local host who will guide you through the city that is known as the ‘Soul of Italy’! I want you to explore the bustling cobblestone streets, see the sights of the historic center and indulge in the famous neapolitan cuisine! A real ‘la dolce vita’ kinda day!
I’ve set this experience up to begin with a scenic stroll along Fontana di Santa Lucia, down to the coast line. There is a lot to take in here but I particularly loved the views of the Museo Pignatelli. It’s an extraordinary example of a house museum in Naples, you can imagine the fancy families that once lived there.
I can't start my day without coffee and I wasn’t disappointed by the Al Barcadero Cafe, it's a great stop I've put in for you. Even if you don’t like coffee the surroundings and views of the harbor and mountains make this worthwhile, and don’t worry they offer much more authentic local flavors than just coffee.
Take some pictures here, your host will get you the best angles!
Tastebuds satisfied, for now, you’re off to the beautiful ‘Piazza del Plebiscito’. This large square is wrapped by the Royal Palace (on the east) and the church of San Francesco di Paola (on the west). There are many stories to be told in this place from the history of the buildings, the protests it hosts through to its significance to Naples. Oh and pretty neat views of Mt Vesuvius.
I want you to feel like you’re a local so the next stop is the street of Spaccanapoli, which literally means ‘Naples Splitter’. It has survived empires. This road leads to many sites but also boasts many of its own, your host will be guaranteed to find things that interest you. Me? I was fascinated by the Chiesa del Gesù Nuovo that features a wall in the far left corner adorned with saintly skulls and bones. Yes, real ones. I think?
Get your pictures, make your memories - this is a real highlight.
I want you to end your experience enjoying the best pizza in Naples at L’Antica Pizzeria Da Michele. Ok it’s my opinion but I think you’ll agree - let me know what you think. They only serve 2 types of pizzas and have a strict no “junk” policy that should be used in making the pizza that could alter its world-famous genuineness and taste.
I’ve designed this experience to give you the real flavor of the city. I hope it shows you the best but inspires you to sample the rest.
