What travelers think of our Naples experiences
What you’ll do
The Campania region in Italy is known for its food, and its capital city of Naples, a hotbed of Michelin-starred cuisine, is at the very heart of it. Try Neapolitan ragù – a hearty, slow-cooked tomato sauce to be enjoyed with meatballs – and cuoppo di mare, a variety of deep-fried seafood, then pop to a grocery store for fresh buffalo mozzarella. Sample the street food of choice, fritto misto, a mix of fried zucchini, potato croquettes and macaroni served hot in a paper cone, and indulge in a glass of locally produced wine with appetizers. Of course, any food experience should end on a sweet note – and the city’s pastry shops won’t disappoint with tasty treats (try ricotta-stuffed sfogliatella or rum-soaked baba) and a Neapolitan espresso.
