In Naples, a city known for its ancient history, spectacular cuisine and, of course, the iconic Mount Vesuvius, your local host will lead you off the well-trodden tourist trail to the city’s secret network of staircases leading to parts of Naples your guidebook doesn’t even know about. From the hilltop district of Vomero, walk to the top of Petraio stairs – a tranquil staircase leading from Vomero to Corso Vittorio Emanuele. Pass between 19th-century houses overgrown with wild plants, stopping off at a terrace for a stunning view, and see a few of the city’s famous votive altars as you make your way down the stairs and head towards the Santa Maria in Portico, a late-baroque church just off the seaside promenade leading to Egg Castle – the oldest castle in Naples.

If I could give this tour a 10 I would! Nunzia was our tour guide and we felt like we were walking around with a good friend. She is knowledgeable and passionate about Naples and it shows. She adjusted the pace of our tour to accommodate our slower walking style but we did not feel rushed. She explained everything and provided answers to all our questions! although the name of this tour is Naples Hodden Gems, the true hidden gem is Nunzia! We highly recommend both Nunzia as well as City Unscripted for a great personal tour!

Enrico was an amazing tour guide. He was able to show us many different aspects of downtown Naples, including where to get pizza a portafoglio, important churches, spacconapoli, the nativity area, Maradona mural, piazza Plebiscito, the galleria and so much more. It was definitely the day to get your steps in! Enrico was polite, cordial and fun. I would recommend him hole heartedly. Thank you Enrico!
