This food tour was absolutely wonderful. Our host, Fumiko, was so knowledgeable, accommodating, and FUN! We had a mix of food allergies to navigate and she did so flawlessly. Fumiko introduced us to a wonderful mix of Osaka staples, and new foods we'd never seen before (puffer fish!!!) - we were all absolutely stuffed by the end. I would 100% do this tour again and again!

My husband and I decided to do a food tour since it was our first time in Osaka. Loys was our guide for the evening. He was punctual and as we walked to our first destination he pointed out some local highlights, and shared some interesting cultural tidbits. One of the places that Loys took us was to a Japanese curry restaurant where the chef mixes his own spices for the curry. We would never have found this place on our own and it was such a treat to watch the chef in action as he crafted each dish. We ate other things during our tour (pastry with adzuki beans, sushi, okonomiyaki with yaki soba, plum liquor, etc.) but the highlight was definitely the curry. The taste of the subtle spices and the meticulous care the chef paid to each dish is something my husband still talks about. We would highly recommend doing a food tour with Loys.

We recently had the pleasure of experiencing a food tour in Osaka, and I must say it was an absolute culinary adventure! Osaka, often referred to as "Japan's Kitchen," is renowned for its vibrant street food culture and diverse culinary scene, and this food tour allowed us to savor a wide range of delicious dishes. Our knowledgeable guide Loys had a deep passion for Osaka's food culture and was eager to share their expertise with us. The tour began in the bustling Dotonbori district, where neon lights illuminated the night and the aroma of various dishes filled the air. Our first stop was at an amazing okonomiyaki restaurant, a savory pancake loaded with ingredients like cabbage, pork, and seafood, cooked right in front of us on a sizzling hotplate. The flavors were a harmonious blend of sweet and savory, and the toppings added a delightful crunch. As we continued our journey through the narrow alleyways and hidden corners of Osaka, we indulged in an array of local delights. Another highlight of the tour was visiting a small sushi bar, the first track sushi restaurant in the entire world! We were treated to some of the freshest, melt-in-your-mouth sushi I've ever had. Of course, no food tour in Osaka would be complete without trying street food classics like kushikatsu. These deep-fried skewers offered a tantalizing mix of meats, vegetables, and seafood, all coated in a perfectly crispy golden batter. The accompanying dipping sauce added an extra layer of flavor to each bite. Throughout the tour, Loys regaled us with stories about Osaka's food history, culture, and traditions, making the experience not only delicious but also informative and engaging. This was a private tour, and he really took the time to ask questions and cater the tour to what we wanted to taste and experience. As the tour came to a close, we couldn't help but feel grateful for the culinary journey we had just embarked on. Osaka's food tour had exceeded my expectations in every way. It was a delightful immersion into the heart and soul of the city's food scene, and I left with a profound appreciation for Osaka's gastronomic culture. If you're a food lover with a penchant for adventure, I highly recommend taking a food tour in Osaka. It's an experience that will tantalize your taste buds, expand your culinary horizons, and leave you with cherished memories of the city's vibrant food culture. Osaka truly lives up to its reputation as a food lover's paradise, and this tour is the
