Explore Naples with a local host, discovering captivating spots and experiencing the city's vibrant essence on an unforgettable journey.
Here’s everything you need to know before your day unfolds.
Get ready to dive headfirst into the heart of Naples on an adventure that blends jaw-dropping art, mouth-watering food, and vibrant local life! Naples is an absolutely stunning city in Italy and probably one of my favorites. I can spend hours walking through the streets, exploring the stunning architecture, and indulging in the yummy Italian food.
Your escapade kicks off at the entrance of the Sansevero Chapel, a spot so rich with wonder it'll leave you wide-eyed. With your local host by your side, you'll unravel the secrets of this artistic gem and beyond. On Tuesday's you will rather stop by Castel Nuovo due to Sansevero Chapel being closed on Tuesday's.
First up is the Sansevero Chapel, a hidden treasure trove of Baroque artistry. Inside, you'll find the Veiled Christ, a sculpture so incredibly detailed you might think the veil is real fabric. It's not just a statue; it's a marvel that has to be seen to be believed. Your host will dish out the intriguing backstory of Raimondo di Sangro, the mad genius prince who made this place a reality. Every nook and cranny of the chapel is filled with stunning sculptures and mysterious symbols that will have you snapping photos like crazy.
From there, stroll to the Chiesa del Gesù Nuovo. Don't let the fortress-like exterior fool you—inside, it's pure opulence. Picture this: walls dripping with ornate frescoes, ceilings that seem to stretch to the heavens, and enough marble to build a palace. Your host will fill you in on the juicy history of this church, from its days as a palace to its conversion into a sacred space. It's a blend of art and history that will leave you spellbound.
Next, it's time to fuel up at Trattoria da Nennella, a local favorite where the food is as lively as the atmosphere. Think hearty plates of pasta, fresh-off-the-boat seafood, and flavors that pack a punch. This isn't just a meal; it's a culinary celebration. My favorite dish here is the patata pravoli pasta - it's so tasty and flavorful! Your host will guide you through the menu, making sure you taste the very best of Neapolitan cuisine. And trust me, every bite is a little piece of heaven.
With your taste buds singing and your energy renewed, venture into the labyrinth of the Quartieri Spagnoli, the Spanish Quarters. This area is the real deal—an authentic slice of Neapolitan life. Imagine narrow streets lined with colorful laundry, the hum of scooters zipping by, and every corner brimming with character. Your host will share stories of the neighborhood's gritty past and vibrant present, giving you a true insider's look at this lively area.
You'll cap off the day with a visit to the Santuario Maradona, a shrine dedicated to the legendary footballer Diego Maradona. If you thought Naples loved pizza, wait until you see how they revere Maradona. The shrine is decked out with murals, memorabilia, and an electric energy that captures the city's passion for football. Even if you're not a sports fan, the sheer devotion is something to behold.
Throughout this whirlwind adventure, your local host will sprinkle in plenty of insider tips and hidden gems, making sure you see Naples from a truly unique perspective. This isn't just about ticking off sights; it's about soaking up the spirit of Naples.
So, lace up your walking shoes, bring your appetite, and get ready to fall in love with Naples in the most unforgettable way possible - just like I did. I can't wait to hear about your adventure!

Show moreBooked the 3 hours walking tour around Naples. Our guide Renato was excellent. He was responsive to all our questions prior to arrival and was very flexible when two days before the tour I changed my mind about what attractions I wanted to include-100% appreciated that. Renato was very knowledgeable and shared many fine details about Naples and the lifestyle there. We would not have been able to navigate Naples without this tour. Thank you Renato!!
Show moreLoved our tour with Giusy. She really listened to our wishes and this tour was an excellent mix of culture and history. Thanks Giusy!
Show moreRoberto is extremely knowledgeable about Naples and Italy as a whole, starting with the Greeks, then Romans, Christians, Spanish, and French. He also gives interesting insight into Italian Unification from the viewpoint of Southern Italy. He discusses Mussolini and his impact on Italy. Of course he ties in the history with the numerous sites along the tour route.
Show moreFabulous walking tour. Enrico was an incredible guide. We saw both the famous spots and hidden gems courtesy of Enrico’s expertise. Also, for those of you who are foodies, Enrico is a Sommelier at George - the only Michelin star restaurant. In Napoli. So he knows his food and wine. We ate and drank where Enrico recommended and were never disappointed. Thoroughly enjoyed every moment.
