Yuka was wonderful. We appreciated that she stayed back with our young daughter during the most intense part of the Peace Museum in Hiroshima. Yuka taught her to make an origami crane and asked her questions about school in the States. She was very thoughtful and so knowledgeable about the history of the city.

What you’ll do

Must-see Hiroshima awaits! Begin your day of exploring this historic city at Shukkeien gardens, where your local guide will lead you to a typical Japanese tea house for a tea ceremony and then onto the postcard-perfect bamboo forest and where the Yozakura (Night Cherry blossoms) are best found, come season. From here, Hiroshima castle and all its secret treasures await exploring. Locally known as ‘Carp Castle’ ask your guide for a happy snap with the surrounding koi pond as your memorable backdrop. The infamous A-Bomb Dome is something you need to see firsthand, hear the stories from survivors who frequent the site, and then continue on to the nearby Peace Memorial park, with its beautiful fountains serving as a reminder of human endurance.
