We like a walking tour and although my other half wanted to cut it short and go shopping (again), I think a walking tour with a well informed guide is a great way of getting a feel for a city. Emma didn't disappoint. Not sure where I goth the impression that Melbourne retained a lot of its colonial past, it isn't that, instead we found a modern and vibrant city with less of its past preserved than you might expect. We thought Emma was great and gave us a great foundation for more exploring during our stay. The Queen Victoria Market is a must, especially the food market.
Show moreEmma was an amazing and flexible host agreeing to meet us at our hotel to commence the tour. The 3 hour experience was most enjoyable and we really loved getting to know Emma on a personal level. She was very well prepared and extremely generous with sharing her knowledge and providing tips. We highly recommend Emma and will certainly be requesting her for any future tours we do in Melbourne in the future. Thankyou !
Show moreAll with thanks and compliments on how well you managed our tour. Can add a note, re: how tired we got while walking around with you ----- our capabilities improved greatly in our 4 weeks abroad as we counted 3-7 miles a day! That is a lot for us and we rarely walk over a mile, 2 at the most, per day! We both lost weight on the trip! :slightly_smiling_face: Thanks again, Jeanne and Norbert

I’m Michael, your local Melbourne host who thrives on sharing the city’s vibrant culture and history. What truly makes Melbourne special for me is its multicultural character and the amazing food and coffee culture it inspires. I’m always on the lookout for the perfect flat white, a standout brunch spot, or a restaurant that offers a new twist on a classic dish. The city’s independent music venues are another big love of mine—there’s nothing quite like seeing a live band in an intimate setting surrounded by fellow music fans. I know Melbourne and its surrounding neighborhoods—like Fitzroy, Richmond, Brunswick, and the Mornington Peninsula—like the back of my hand. Born and raised in Brunswick, I know Melbourne’s inner north like the back of my hand, from Sydney Rd to Fitzroy, Northcote, and beyond. I’m obsessed with the city’s artsy, alternative scene with festivals, queer parades, underground gigs, and pop-up events keeping me exploring. I love finding hidden gems, vintage stores, secret laneways, rooftop bars, and the best cafes and restaurants, and my friends in hospitality keep me in the know. I’m Alison, a Melbourne local who loves showing the city from a slightly different perspective. What I enjoy most about Melbourne is its waterside life, from river traffic and working ports to yacht clubs and beaches. The city feels completely different when experienced along its waterways and beachfronts. I’m drawn to Melbourne’s multicultural energy, where grungy, gritty, glamorous and funky all coexist. I love walking, whether getting lost in CBD laneways, wandering a foreshore, or heading upriver. Food is another passion of mine, from market eats to fine dining. I know Williamstown, Altona, Footscray, the CBD and Carlton well. As a trained art teacher, I enjoy sharing Melbourne’s art spaces, and my interest in sustainability means I’m great at finding vintage, recycled, handmade and unconventional spots.
Whether it’s a buzzing gig, a comedy show, or an art event, there’s always something happening in this dynamic city—and I love helping visitors uncover its best-kept secrets. Melbourne’s diversity inspires me daily, from its incredible live music scene to its rich food culture. I enjoy exploring everything from intimate venues like the Collingwood Workers’ Club to large-scale arenas like Rod Laver. When I’m not catching a show, you’ll find me checking out the city’s top eateries, organizing happy hour catch-ups, or enjoying the unique vibes of neighborhoods like Footscray, St Kilda, and Brunswick East. Whether you’re after live music, rooftop bars, unforgettable dining experiences, or hidden gems, I’ll craft an experience tailored to your interests. Let’s make your visit to Melbourne unforgettable!
