Your perfect half-day in Porto

Our Porto Walking Tour was very good, but it was scheduled for a Sunday when a lot of things were closed. Because our group was fairly active and our guide, Mayinka, was very energetic, responsive to what we wanted to do and made great suggestions, we were able to cover a lot of ground. It was disappointing that so many things were closed and may have been helpful if somebody had let us know that in advance.

We had a great tour with Mayinka. We were in Porto on a Sunday which meant many sites were not open but Mayinka did a fabulous job of introducing us to the city and showing us places we would never have found on our own. She adjusted the tour for our specific interests and we enjoyed her energy and enthusiasm for Porto.

Mayinka was a great guide - on time and met us at the hotel. She loves to explore around and found us some really cool out of the way places for tiles and history. Funny and engaging she set up some great photos of us in key places. Loved the boat ride to Macau at the World of Discoveries museum.

Catia was a terrific guide for me and my 24 year old daughter. Tours so often give you expats - people who moved to a city and found this gig. Catia is a Porto lifer AND works for the city in urban planning. She also had a solid "approach" - starting at the oldest section and working to/through the city, excellent balance of informative and fun. Finally, she was incredibly kind - had read in detail our "bio" including that my daughter has severe celiac issues. She'd researched all the places that might be appropriate in Porto (and my daughter, who has a global app that suggests where to go, said Catia had hit the high spots without knowing about that app!).

Great tour guide. Expectations set up front. Great communication before the tour. Flexible and friendly staff.

My guide was Cátia who was absolutely fabulous. I was 22 weeks pregnant when I was on the tour with her. She was very considerate and was able to adapt to my comfort level since it was a walking tour. My husband and I enjoyed all the stories she told us about Porto and each site we visited. We learned a lot since she has a wealth of knowledge as a city planner of Porto. Cátia was so sweet and I want to recommend her to my friends who are coming to Porto this summer.
