What travelers think of our Osaka experiences
Maria was a very pleasant tour guide and was very accommodating to our requests. We enjoyed our day in Nara very much. She was very resourceful to guide us and avoid the huge crowds during our spring time visit. I will strongly recommend her to guide you too.
Show moreMaria was a spectacular local host providing us wonderful access to hidden local gems that we never would have found on our own. She tailored our days together (we loved her so much we ended up booking two extra days!) considerate of our American teenage boy’s preferences but also ours as experienced travelers.
Show moreMaria expertly structured the tour as the day progressed, to allow us to focus on things that interested us, without sacrificing the cultural aspects. She was excellent! We recommend her highly!
Show moreGuide was informative and very helpful
Show moreNuestra guía Fumiko fue excelente!! La atención, disposición y amabilidad increíbles. El tour a NARA es obligado al visitar Japón. Es un lugar bellísimo y los santuarios son espectaculares. Superó nuestras expectativas totalmente. Agradecidos y totalmente recomendable. Our guide, Fumiko, was excellent! Her attention, willingness, and kindness were incredible. The tour to Nara is a must when visiting Japan. It's a beautiful place, and the shrines are spectacular. It completely exceeded our expectations. We are grateful and highly recommend it.
Show moreWe did a 9 hour Nara day trip with Fumiko on 4/9. She was great-- we switched hotels and she was flexible in picking us up at our new hotel lobby. She was knowledgeable about the sites visited, navigated the train system for us, and was patient with our souvenir shopping and perusing during the entire day. We had a great time and I would highly recommend. We saw the Nara deer, Todai-iji temple, did some shopping in downtown Nara, and a sake tasting. She was great at personalizing our itinerary to our desired activities.

What you’ll do
Nara is home to unique features; we don’t just mean temples and shrines. Local street food is amazing because it caters to the tame deer that wander around Nara Park. Be wary, though - they’ll do anything for a bite! Your host will lead you to the city’s numerous cultural hotspots, ranging from ancient temples to one giant Buddha, giving you the inside scoop on centuries of Japanese history.
Peckish? You might find yourself slurping on the unique taste of spicy Tenri Ramen or sampling chagayu, a regional rice and tea porridge. If it’s souvenirs you’re after, pop in at Higashimuku Shopping District before heading back to the station. It’s chock full of curios and trinkets, and your host will be on hand to haggle!
