Here’s everything you need to know before your day unfolds.
Explore this famed floating city but uncover its secret side. Draw behind the obvious tourist ticks and get to grips with the craftsmanship which Venice is so renowned for, from a famous textile factory, Tessiture Bevilacqua, concealing a thousand years of trade secrets to the church of San Pantalon, a hidden gem boasting the world's largest oil canvas painting. Explore an area that no tourist usually sees, the place the Venetians call home and escape the crowds - the magnificent San Francesco della Vigna area awaits and offers a normal view into everyday life here. And when your feet become a little tired, perhaps it's time for a quick aperitivo before you continue to secret sunset spots and learn about the local legends of Campo dei Mori.

Benedetta met us at our hotel for a four-hour private walking tour of Venice. As a local (born and bred) Benedetta displayed a great deal of knowledge of the history and culture of Venice. We ambled around going where we wanted and seeing more besides. We’d opted for this tour on Day 1 of our trip, primarily to source inside knowledge of the sights to visit, how to avoid the queues and the best locations to eat/drink and take a ‘romantic’ Gondola ride. That evening we ate at a fantastic seafood restaurant (Al Colombo) in the quiet back-streets close to Rialto Bridge. The following day, we took Benedetta’s advice and headed to the quieter Jewish Quarter (Cannaregio) after a lovely Gondola ride in San Toma area. This tour was an excellent way to see the city at an easy pace and gain an insider’s knowledge of the city and its sights. Thoroughly recommended!

Show moreMaria was a great guide, the best we’ve had in Italy. She showed us what we wanted, with a few surprises that were well received. We saw and learned so much more than a traditional tourist tour. Maria was very caring, thoughtful, and vested in providing the best experience. She knows how to navigate Venice very well. Highly recommend this tour with Marie.
Show moreRoberto showed us so many interesting things about Venice, from big popular sights to tiny details we never would have known about that are unique to Venice. He was very informative and even kept a teenage boy interested for 3 hours. He did not rush though the tour and went at a pace that was perfect for our family. We loved every minute of it!
Show moreAndrea took us through parts of the city MOST people never see! The areas we visited were quiet and non-commercial and very un crowded!
