Crisp spritzes, cobbled piazzas and nibbles of supplí.
Here’s everything you need to know before your day unfolds.
You’ll join one of our local Rome hosts for a taste of la dolce vita, as you experience what is surely everyone’s favorite part of the day - aperitivo! This northern Italian tradition of enjoying a drink and some nibbles before dinner has spread to Rome, and we couldn’t be happier.
You’ll unwind with your host (you know, all the sightseeing can be tough!) and sip a spritz or a cold beer along with a small plate or gourmet nibbles like focaccia, bruschetta, cured meats, and local specialty delicacies like supplí, small balls of fried rice oozing with melted mozzarella or fried globe artichokes.
You just need to let us know what your style is, and we’ll do the rest. Do you see yourself in the cobbled piazza, where tables spill into the streets from ivy-clad, weathered trattoria? Lively Trastevere is for you then! Or would you prefer a sleek, modern spot near fashionable via del Corso? Or even somewhere boho and thoroughly laid-back, like Testaccio.
Then, you need to decide if you’d like somewhere where things are more buffet style, or you’d prefer to order small plates as you go. So you see, aperitivo isn’t as simple as it may seem, but our host can’t wait to show you the ropes!
When in Rome, and all that.

Cecilia was great company and really knowledgeable and it was great to experience authentic Roman food culture which is more than just the delicious food.
