Get an introduction to Florence with tips on what to see, what to do, and how to get around the city
Here’s everything you need to know before your day unfolds.
Strap in for a crash course in Florence with a knowledgeable local host to get you comfortable in Italy’s sun-soaked, sepia-toned Cradle of the Renaissance. Learn how to navigate the cobbled streets and get to grips with the distinct character of each district (while squeezing in plenty of sightseeing along the way.) See landmarks like the Florence Cathedral, Piazza Santa Felicità, and Via dei Girolami – a vaulted medieval road – and learn stories about the city’s secret history, like Via dei Calzaioli, the shoemaker’s street where the painter Bronzino got headaches from the noise! Ask your local insider any questions you have – perhaps over an espresso, gelato, or a crunchy biscotti at Vivoli or Robiglio like the honorary local you are.

Jacopo was awesome!! I highly recommend booking this tour! He is so accommodating with whatever you would like to see and offers suggestions as to what you need to see. Gives tips and emails sights/food/drink places to go explore on your own. Book this when you first arrive so you have an idea of where to go!
Show moreJacopo was very accommodating!! He showed us everything we wanted and didn’t know we wanted to see! He didn’t let us miss anything! Even when we had questions he said he would send us a list of things we needed to go back and check out and even local suggestions of food/drink/sights. I HIGHLY recommend booking this private walking tour!! You get the local experience. A MUST DO!!
Show moreOur guide Jacobo was personable and knowledgeable on local history, culture and food. He took us to the market where locals shop and eat. Highly recommend Jacobo while in Florence.
Show moreOur host was fantastic, with lots of local knowledge due to growing up in the city. He customized on the fly our desired sites and information.
Show moreWe had a 3 hour walking tour with Mik, which was amazing! He is a wonderful person, and amazing guide. He is so passionate about Florence’s history and it shines through his entire tour. He has kids, so is very patient and empathetic to those with kids. He is thoughtful and kept us in the shade as much as possible, and also highlight spots for drinks, water bottle refills and toilets throughout the tour. Plus he has been living in Florence for 20 years (maybe more can’t remember the exact number) and knows a ton of people and can provide amazing recommendations.
Show moreMik is an amazing guide! Very friendly, knowledgeable and makes the tour interesting. He is also very thoughtful, and tries to make it as comfortable as possible by sticking to the shade as much as possible and providing times to refill water bottles, use the bathroom or grab a coffee/drink.
