In Brussels since 2006. Very much an autodidact. My main interests are history and architecture, and if you are looking for a green oasis in the city, I can be of assistance there too. Brussels was at the Crossroads of Europe throughout the ages. Then in the 20th century it became the Capital of Europe. I believe the city’s past has made Brussels what it is today: a diverse, multilingual melting-pot. There is something for everybody here. I wish I could put into words how thoroughly pleased we ALL were. We got in too late for the scheduled tour, however Sean offered to take us the next day. We already had plans for the following day. Instead, he joined us for dinner, spent hours with us answering questions, giving us insight into the history of the country, infusing humor and knowledge into the understanding of the country. The next day the tour we had scheduled cancelled, so we called him, fully anticipating he would not be available at the last minute. He went out of his way, rescheduled his own commitments to take us. He was informative, energetic, kind-taking each our education and physical needs into consideration (young to old, high school to doctorate in our group) AND STILL exceeded each of our expectations. He took his time, answered each of our questions and if he didn't know, (which was rare) he got back to us with the information. He clearly loves his country which gave each of us a personal and accurate insight into the lives, surroundings and history of the citizens. He ended by walking us to where we needed to be to get back, left his number in case we needed anything while in the country and off he went.

We had an absolutely fantastic day with Sean! We covered an incredible amount of the city by foot and Metro that we would never have been able to do on our own. Sean knows the most efficient—and interesting—route between points, plus all the little interesting points of interest in between that are not in the guide books and would be easily overlooked. He is also very flexible and adjusted the itinerary and stops according to what we found to be most interesting for us. His suggestion for lunch was authentic and excellent. We stayed in Brussels for two weeks (easy to do, there’s so much to see) and booked Sean for day 2 so that we could get a good introduction to the city. If you only have one or two days to visit Brussels, Sean will make the most of your valuable time! Sean earns six stars out of 5!
