Bangkok is known for its abundant nightlife, impressive shopping malls, rooftop bars, bustling markets and delicious street food. While the city offers many high-end attractions, there are also plenty of free activities that allow you to experience Bangkok without breaking the bank. 

Here are my recommendations for five free things you can do to enjoy the city during your vacation.

1. Lake Adventures at Benchakitti Park

Benchakitti Park offers a tranquil escape from the busy streets of Bangkok. One of the highlights of this park is the chance to ride a boat around its beautiful lake. You can rent either a pedal boat or a kayak for free for an hour between 9 am and 6 pm.  For the best experience, go early in the morning or later in the afternoon to avoid the midday heat. Be sure to catch sunset views over the lake.

2. Gardens and City Views at EmQuartier

EmQuartier's 5th floor features hanging gardens, water gardens, and ponds that create a serene oasis in the midst of the city. Explore the viewpoint areas for city views during sunset. This spot offers a unique perspective of Bangkok's skyline.

3.  Cultural Marvels at Wat Pak Nam

Wat Pak Nam is home to the largest Gold Buddha in Bangkok, made entirely of pure bronze (the only one in the world). 5.  Explore Icon Siam's Floating Market 

Icon Siam, one of Bangkok's luxury shopping malls, offers more than just high-end retail. On the Ground Floor, you'll find an indoor floating market that showcases the local culture and offers a delightful visual feast. Head to the top floor for breathtaking rooftop views of the city, or catch the mesmerizing water fountain show at night for a memorable experience.
