€74.17 EUR per person based on 2 adults

You’ll join one of our local Madrid hosts to feast your way around the city together.
It turns out there’s more to life than tapas, and your host can’t wait to share their city’s whole food culture with you- Don’t worry though, there is still tapas to be had.
You could start in Puerta del Sol where there’s a marker known as Kilometer Zero, where all six of Spain’s national roads lead to, so it’s no surprise that Madrid’s food scene has become a combination of styles and flavors from across the country.
Pick a direction and you’re off!
Explore a market like the newly refurbished Mercado San Miguel and try the finest regional produce like slivers of Iberian ham and some pinchos (tiny tapas held together with a stick) from the trendy tapas bars inside the market.
Then on your way to the next stop, pick up a Bocadillo de Calamares, Madrid’s most famous street eat (a calamari sandwich).
Let your host take you to a low-key eatery, where you could try a seasonal dish - refreshing gazpacho in summer or Cocido Madrileño (a hearty chickpea and pork stew) in winter.
And there’s always room for dessert, right?
You’ll indulge in the most heavenly churros with a thick, rich chocolate sauce at a place that’s the locals’ go-to spot at all hours of the day.
You might actually be crawling home after all of that food!
Join your personally chosen host as they take you on a journey to discover Madrid’s cuisine - apparently, there is a life beyond tapas
Take in all of the sights and smells of one of the city’s finest eating establishments; Mercado San Miguel where you’ll visit a trendy tapas bar and sample some quality produce like slivers of Iberian ham
Walk past a handful of Madrid’s most iconic landmarks on your travels through the Central district
Pick up the locals’ favorite street eats as you wander - calamari sandwiches and churros! (Luckily not at the same time)
Stop by a low-key local eatery where you can try a seasonal dish that’s loved by the locals

Joanna was our guide and she was fantastic! My son and I found her so easy to get along with. She was very friendly, knowledgeable of the history of the various barrios we walked through, and she turned us on to some some fantastic food and drink treats. Her organization, CityUnscripted, has a real gem of a person/tour guide in Joanna.
Wondering typical neighborhoods, sipping coffee in a local shop, discussing the joys and challenges of today's Spain, sharing life experiences over delicious food in an authentic Spanish restaurant - these were all part of our amazing day with Silvia. Through Silvia we learned so much about life in Spain and its people, one of our primary motivations for travel. This was our first experience with CityUnscripted and it was much more like meeting up with a friend of a friend instead of a tour guide. We signed up for an 8-hour day which I thought may be too long. But the day flew by as we wandered, ducked into neighborhood stores and churches, watched children running through parks, and got to know Silvia, an innovative entrepreneur and journalist with a insatiable curiosity about everything around her and a perpetual twinkle in her eye, and her life. We also did some touristy things but saw them through the eyes of a local. Now back home, when we think of Madrid we do think of the Prado and the Palace and the churros. But we especially think of Silvia and how she lovingly shared with us the city she knows and loves. We will definitely seek out other experiences with CityUnscripted in our future travels. Highly recommended!
We had a 3 person tour (myself and my 2 kids, ages 8 and 12) with Silvia. She was great. She showed us everything we wanted to see with some extras too. We walked a lot but also had time to rest in a beautiful park or shop. Silvia is friendly and spoke easily with my kids. Her English is perfect. I would definitely recommend her.
Just because it’s not here doesn’t mean we can’t offer it.
