Hey there! I'm Colin, your friendly local host in Singapore. What I love most about Singapore is the harmonious blend of tradition and modernity, seen in the architectural balance between towering skyscrapers and charming heritage buildings. I enjoy sampling the diverse foodie delights found in our bustling hawker centers and restaurants and when I'm not indulging in delicious foods, you'll find me immersed in the rich history and heritage of the Civic District, where I love exploring the fascinating museums and galleries that showcase Singapore's story. I have a good knowledge of the East Coast area, from Changi to Katong to the Civic District and I look forward to sharing the fascinating heritage of the area with you! Join me on a journey through Singapore's past and present, and let's create unforgettable memories together! I can't wait to show you around.

My reviews

Even before our private walking tour started, Colin, our local guide, was super communicative via email and WhatsApp, and he was really keen to understand the type of experiences we'd like to see in Singapore to make the tour personal for us. He shared a detailed itinerary based on his extensive local knowledge, and including a few specific locations we'd mentioned based on reviews we'd read and a previous trip to Singapore Our meeting point, location and time were agreed well in advance with confirmation updates the day before, all very reassuring. On the morning of our tour, Colin was on time and stood exactly where we'd agreed to meet him. He was immediately very friendly and helpful and re confirmed the itinerary and was still very flexible and open to changes as the tour proceeded. He was also very quick to understand our walking pace and level of physical ability, especially in the heat. Our tour included a mix of the classic locations; tour of Chinatown including Chinatown Complex, a walk through Clarke Quay and the Singapore River and on to Fort Canning Park, a walking tour of Fort Canning, including historical locations at Fort Gate, Battlebox, Fort Canning Heritage Gallery and Spice Garden, then a scenic walk down Canning Rise passing local landmarks including the Armenian Church and Central Fire Station. Colin included a rest / snack break at Funan Digitalife Mall before heading on to a specific location we'd requested on the Singapore River to replicate a photo at Boat Quay from our honeymoon in the 1990's (Colin was super helpful and captured the perfect replica 2024 photo). Our tour then continued through the Colonial District passing more local landmarks including St Andrew’s Cathedral, the National Gallery, Padang and the Asian Civilisations Museum. We then crossed the Singapore River via the historic Cavanagh Bridge, and walked through the Fullerton Hotel (with very welcome air conditioning) towards Merlion Park and the Marina Bay. Our tour concluded with a walk to Raffles Place to the heart of the Central Business District. Colin was able to answer many of our questions along the way, and spoke clearly in perfect English, but if he didn't know a particular point, he would say rather than just making things up. We thoroughly enjoyed our walking tour experience with Colin, and would highly recommend it. As a general point, be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes, ensure you have a hat, and carry water to drink along the way, and be

Colin was very knowledgeable in the history of the areas we visited, as well as attentive to my own preferences and expectations from the tour. Colin answered many questions with patience and respect; he is a wonderful guide!

Colin was great! We got a true feel for the city and its history. It felt like a friend was showing us around and eventually we felt at home.
