Hey there, I'm Aldric, your local host in Singapore! What I love most about Singapore is the abundance of street and hawker food available 24/7. It's a culinary paradise that caters to every budget and craving. But it doesn't stop at food! I'm also passionate about uncovering offbeat nature trails and scenic hikes that reveal interesting trivia and obscure historical facts about Singapore. There's so much more to this city than meets the eye, and I'll ensure we explore its hidden treasures. From Chinatown/Outram to Joo Chiat/Katong, Queenstown/Bukit Merah to Lavender/Bugis, and Balestier/Jalan Besar, I know these neighborhoods like the back of my hand. Join me on a journey through Singapore, where we'll indulge in the best flavors, uncover fascinating trails, and create unforgettable memories together!

My reviews

Aldric was amazing and super friendly. Not only did he provide us with absolutely loads of different unique dishes we wouldn't think to try on our own, he also showed us a bit of Singapore and answered all of our questions. The entire experience was amazing and food was delicious. Aldric really knows the city and how they prepare the food and could share lots of local tips and knowledge with us. We really loved chatting with him all evening. He even stayed a bit later with us to show us the way to our next location after the tour. 100% would recommend if you get a bit overwhelmed by the food choices of Singapore and aren't sure what to try. Best way to do this is with a local too, they always know the best places!

I have visited Singapore a couple of times but the private walking food tour provided a different take about Singapore’s rich culture in culinary scene. Aldric Tan (aka The Geeky Glutton) was our local guide and he walked us through the whole tour. His years of passion in the search for authentic food led to equip him with a lot of insights about Singapore’s culinary history! He brought us to some off-the-beaten paths and hidden gem areas tucked in Singapore’s metro. The deeply ingrained hawker culture in Singapore provided a great influence among its people and it became a part of their daily lives. It was a great experience to hear stories and insights about the history of their cuisines while trying out the food that is introduced to us! The conversation even branched to discussions of politics, geopolitics, economy, religion, social issues, etc. — it shows how a simple culinary feast could tell stories about their culture. Aldric also provided us a list of places and food to try that were not included in our tour due to lack of time. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and this food tour is highly recommended, as well as for Aldric who was our fantastic guide! :)
