Hold onto your hats, you’re going to join one of our local Sapporo hosts for a jaunt around the city, sampling sake as you go. Call it a taste of Sapporo, if you will.

Cultural immersion, especially one through a local lens, requires a hands on and practical approach, so you’ll be sipping a few samples of regional and national sake, highballs, Japanese whisky or Sapporo’s famous beer.

You’ll wander (not stagger) from unique sake shops to tiny izakaya bars (which actually means ‘stay in sake shop’), discovering the various types of sake available as you sample from different regions, different ages and at different temperatures.

Depending on your vibe and preference, you could even visit Nikka Whisky, one of Japan's top whisky makers at its distillery in Yoichi or try authentic craft beer at the Beer Cellar Sapporo where you can sample the finest brews from Japan.

And along the way, you’ll try delicious morsels like gyoza dumplings and yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) - the perfect snack to soak up all that sake!

  • Indulge in the sake, beer and liquor that are part of Hokkaido’s rich culture

  • Take the experience at your pace - savouring 6 tastings over 3 hours with classic snack pairings like gyoza dumplings to keep you going

  • Flit between local bars known as izakaya, sake shops where you learn a little about the sake making process as you sample, and even a whisky distillery!

  • Taste sake from different regions, different ages and at different temperatures - all in the name of discovery, of course!

  • Get your hosts recommendations on other sake-lover appropriate places and activities in Sapporo

Sapporo with Robin

Had a great day with Robin, my wife and kids enjoyed his company and his ability to show us around the agreed sites. Highly recommend Robin for families visiting the area. He communicated great and the whole experience from booking to the days activities were spot on. Will definitely see him again on our return

Half day private guided walking tour of Sapporo

Robinn asked our preference ofvthe places to see and actually followed our suggestions. Was glad to have explored the city using their public transport. Would have been better if Robinn shared info and facts about the places we visted though. But appreciated that he brought us to this amazing soup curry resto-Garaku! Got hooked to soup curry!
